Checking In

Post by Vincent »

Well, I'm one week into training, and I've got to say it's going pretty well!

I'm essentially getting paid to go to Space Camp at the moment, despite having to make sure I do well on all of my exams.

Shouldn't be a problem though. Our first exam was on Tuesday morning on the STS and ISS. I didn't miss any of the regular questions, but I did miss two of the bonus.

I put Expedition 8 down instead of 9 because I wasn't completely sure which one was up on the ISS at the time.

the other question I missed was regarding what the acronym DAP stood for as used by the pilot and commander (Digital Auto Pilot -- I won't forget that ever)!

So all is well. Though I haven't had much time to spend here, unfortunately. It's going to be that way for a while, so everyone please be good while I'm not around!

...Also, who's got the Hab1 poster here? Anyone know?

Last time I heard, Arlisa had it, yeah...

So, Vincent, you have to come find me and Laura this next week... I'll be the one that looks like me... yeah, I'm no good at descriptions... maybe we can look for you instead?

Hillary was going to try to get the poster put up becuase I had to leave early. If she wasn't able to, she may have given it back to Arlisa or taken it with her to bring back next time.

Yeah, I definitely ran into Vincent many a time during the week... fun stuff. Yeah, it was fun to see random trainee counselors doing stuff throughout the week, alhtough, strangely, I never actually saw Vincent doing anything... but I'm sure he did... I think.

Oh but I did indeed work very hard these past 2.5 weeks! All of the trainees did.

...and now it will be our great honor to provide a great experience to many, many Space Campers through the summer.

Well, I got my team yesterday morning. 8 hours later, I was so, so, so drained of all energy! They're a good group, but yesterday was...remarkable. Between watching 14 kids and trying to stay as close to on schedule as possible, I was just beat!

Today was fantastic though! Though I was a bit nervous about day 2, my team was very good. I was able to stay on the schedule all day. Everything was great! It was a good day. I am happy!

...What a great job!
