What would you be?
If you were a counsellor and you could choose which (youth) program to lead, what would you be?

ASA counselors also get closer to their campers since their close in age in general.

ALL of them!!:)
I cast the first (and so far only) vote for Space Academy. Mostly because I'm still a high schooler myself and to be a counselor for ASA is a bit far off... but once of course, I'm in my later college years....actually, you know what? I think I could be a counselor for just about ANY program there...I'd love it all the same...
Although i voted ASA when i went back and thought about it i'd probably be better as either an Academy or camp ounselor because everyone thinks i still look like a highschooler.

Drea told us a story about when she was counseor for camp (or was it Academy). The back of her shirt was the same as the back of the campers', so when another counselor saw the group, he asked the where their counselor was and Drea was like (in high little voice) "I'm right here..."
Ad astra per aspera.
LOL thats what would probably happen to me if i were an ASA counselor.

That happened to my counselor Michelle. We were eating in the cafeteria and another counselor came up and asked where our counselor was when Michelle was sitting right at the end. It was really funny!Benji wrote:Drea told us a story about when she was counseor for camp (or was it Academy). Well i would think it would be easy to mistake some ASA counselors for campers but the earlier story of mistaking a counselor for an academy level camper that counselor must have really looked young.

What would I be...
Although I marked ASA as my absolute favourite, I would love to teach any of the Space Camp levels. Why? Maybe it's my thought that younger kids can be fun too!
If you think you have to treat kids like kids, that creates a problem right there. If you treat kids like friends and grown ups, they learn to repect you a lot more. I have learned this through my years of teaching swimming lessons and Brownies/Girl Guides.
Kids have such bold and new ideas. Although many of these ideas are completely absurd, the kids think they're a genius, and they need to know that they are a genius and to never stop using their imagination to think up new ideas - it is these new ideas and new inspirations that create the biggest and best changes in the world.
Well, enough about the little kids, they would be a blast to teach, but being an ASA counsellor would be the ultimate experience. You would be able to do more advanced missions, like EDM's and 24-hour EDM's! You would also be able to relate more to the campers because they are more mature, have more rational thoughts, and tend to listen and understand things better; less repetition. This would be why an ASA counsellor would be the icing on the cake for all summer jobs!

Yeah, well, over the summer, our counsler actually ditched our team. I'm sure he had a good reason, but Blake (who actually BEAT Sara in space camp visits senority) took over, waved our team binder around, got us back to the hab, got us all back down, and back to the Cafeteria in time for dinner.
Good times.
