Fave counselors who have been around for a while

Post by CastAway »

Anyone have favorite counselors who have been around for a while? I have a few. Melissa, who makes a few appearances throughout the week, was my counselor WAY back in the day. We're talking Camp, I think, and I just did my second year of ASA! Also, Jason Jirsa, whose name you can find in the log book credits under education, was my counselor that same year. Of course, there's Joel, but I haven't had much interaction with him myself. He somehow seems to avoid being around on the weeks I'm there... hehe. Hmm... Brent has been there for at least 2 years... apparently he used to be at some other locations. He was my counselor last year, and he was manning the Enterprise sim this year. Any others?

Yeah well I have never had Brent as a counselor, but he is the shiznit! That and Jason...he was my first ASA counselor. Then there is Smiley. He is the coolest counselor ever even though he is a gray shirt now.

Hmm... I forgot Ed. Dunno his last name. I saw him this year, and somehting seemed incredibly farmiliar about his voice. I had absolutely no clue what at the time, but I mentioned to him that his voice seemed farmiliar. I then remembered that I had had an Academy briefing with him 2 years back. What specifically stuck out in my mind was the "digital cockroach" in his presentation that he kept referring to. I mentioned this to him, and it was clarified why he seemed farmiliar.

Yeah, well, I have had Brent for a counselor and, though he's cool, he is not the shiznit. I am The Shiznit.

Did you have 'Drea, too? I liked 'Drea. It's cool because the age difference is quite small, so she was more like a teammate than a counselor, unlike when we were little and the counselors were old and boring.

No I didn't. At first, Brent was gonna have us the entire time, but then Katina ended up being our day counselor.

Hmm I had Michelle once. Right I had her Christmas Camp 2001-2002 along with Jason. She was really funny and let us play with camp demos and light stuff on fire.

Sounds like you got along great then. As long as fire is involved, Sara stays happy.

The hypergolics in our fuel demo got a bit wet, and we had trouble igniting them (or rather getting them to ignite). When they did light, it was a wimpy little fire.

I was on a team with Melissa's niece, but that is beside the point. Anyway, I have had both Melissa and that Jay dude do it. He put way too much in and we got scared and ran away from it because it was a pretty huge fire thing. Well, I thought it was cool!

I love the demonstration with the hypergolic fuels. We got to do it twice because the Australians showed up after we'd already done it.

Aesthetically pleasing fire is ALWAYS nice! I had an AC Counselor once that said fire differently than he did all other words. It was crazy, he would stop what he was saying just to say FIRE in a different happy tone of voice and get all excited.
