They'd have to, to be able to be that familiar with them, wouldn't they?
I, too, would like to know...

That would imply they had down time. Now I can only speak for summer months since thats when i worked there but keep in mind camps are going on almost constantly and its not uncommon or at least wasn't 7 years ago for counselors to work 75-80 sometimes more hours a week. When you did have time off most people were not spending it there at the space center. Between week long, and weekend camps and crazy hours you did not have much down time for yourself or the sims. I don't remember what we were told specifically as far as being allowed to use them but even if we were there wasn't really chances to do do.

A bit late to the post, but I second what Boomerang said, that would imply we had free time! We worked fairly continuous shifts. That said, we also had a whole month of training so we got very familiar with everything before we taught it- and learned more as time went on too.
I'm not sure if it was *allowed* after hours, I heard a story here and there but I don't think it was commonplace.

Ditto what Jason and Lisa said. Once your day is done you're ready to get away from the floor!
