2005 Counselors

Has anyone here heard any word from Space Camp about being hired as a new counselor this summer?

My hopes are way up and I'm getting all nervous now.

All I know is that they under-hired for Spring, so they're quite desperate to get people who have already been through training as soon as possible.

At the same time, I'm pretty sure they're going to be hiring new people as well.

Best of luck! I hope you hear from them soon!

Hey,

Tim called them a couple days ago and they said they haven't even looked at summer apps yet! I think they will be calling people for interview in the next week or two. Seems like they are waiting till the last minute!

Well... I know no one on here knows me... except maybe vincent... but im Matt.. i got to Univeristy of Tennessee Knoxville, and got a fun little phone call today from the HR department that sounds like I will probably be hired to work as a counsoler this summer. Sounds like a similar situation happened that was posted in here last year, so I look forward to finding out for sure in a week or so!

Congratulations!

I know they're still looking at applications, so my fingers and toes are still crossed. Maybe I'll get to work with you this summer!

Good luck with that erin... just so you know, it sounds like everyone that they are hiring new is just working with the sims this summer, or at leats to start. Its what my offer was from and what they told me over the phone. Just thought you may want to know

I had submitted my application back in Jan. and again in March, and hadn't heard anything. So I gave them a call earlier this week, and had a phone interview the following day and received my official job offer today as a counselor. So if you've submitted an application and haven't heard back yet, my advice is to call and email them until you get an answer - showing perseverence is something they'll admire.

I spoke with Marion today, and here's what the deal is. If you want to work up top, you'll be a SIMs counselor for the entire season. If you want to work down at AC, you can be a team leader. I opted to be an AC counselor, as I loved that program when I went.

I got my official letter today! I'll be a sims counselor this summer. It's all very exciting, now I just need to convince my Russian professor to let me take my exam early.

No kidding. School is what is making me uncertain about applying next year. Crazy trimesters that last halfway into the summer.
