Shalom! I have never been to Israel (though I want to go), but my aunt lives in Jerusalem. What part are you from?

I live in Givatayim, it's close to Tel-Aviv.
how do you know the ward Shalom?

I think it's a pretty commonly known non-English word...much like everyone knows words like "hola" or "casa" even though they don't actually speak Spanish.

...I think I first heard it in an Indiana Jones Movie 15 years ago or something...at any rate, it's pretty common.

Yeah, it's pretty common, though, like I said, my aunt lives in Israel and I'm Jewish, so I know a little bit.
