Space Camp Korea

Post by WesL »

The ASSEC commitees gave their blessing for the center to go into final negotiations with a group to open Space Camp Korea. Barnhart and the licensing VP have been in Korea this week. I'm pretty sure the deal is done but more than likely won't have official confirmation until the ASSEC Annual Meeting next week.

The group that licensed Dubai transferred their option to India but they are running into a lot of issues there. They did pay their storage fees and their option runs out this month (Nov).

It doesn't seem like this is happening anytime soon. You may have heard that the ASSEC is suing the potential Korea licensee, Odysseia. ASSEC claims that Odysseia never completed their requirements under the licensing agreements and so any claims to a license are invalid. ASSEC wants to negotiate a license for Korea with another company but needs to resolve this issue first. Now, Odysseia has asked that the case be thrown out because the CEO was lured to Huntsvilleunder false pretenses so that the ASSEC could serve him with notice of the lawsuit in violation of international treaties.

Regardless of who is right and the outcome of the suit, this is certain to delay any potential Space Camp Korea for several years.
