Well everyone has their favorites but my personal favorite is pilot track. But if your not good under alot of pressure then thats not really a good position. As pilot you will have alot of pressure on you. If you're intrested in engineering then MS is good i've never done that one but it looks like fun. If you're into science and like doing expirements then PS is good. Just depends on your personality. What space camp program will you be going to?

Going to Adult Space Academy next Fall?

Myself and Kemara (both on this board) are planning a trip together
next fall. We're not sure of the week... but the more the merrier!

Guess so... but then, unless things have changed you don't PICK your assignments in Camp or Academy. They're given to you.

But... that's the way it was when I went way back when to Camp and Academy I so... who knows.

Well as far as i know its still like that but you dont just get assigned a position at random. You do have some input and the counselors have some way of picking who gets what positions. When i went we had a space history quiz the higher you scored the better chance you had of getting what yiu wanted. Heck i got what i wanted at camp and academy level 1. You might be right she might be going to ASa ot might not know that every program doesnt guarantee you a certain position.

Our counselors had similar ways to pick teams. In fact, for Camp we were assigned based on scores and other factors. For Academy I, it was a little of scores and what you requested. At least, when I went.

Oh i also meant to put the part about that you also told them your top 3 choices for positions and they looked at those and your scores and assigned the mission positions.

Oh, that's a nice way of doing it... I don't remember that but it's been a long time.

What's funny, is that I have the original questions (and answers, I think) to the test I took in Camp.

I should post them sometime... but they're with my Camp Book (Clip binder!)

Yeah it was a nice way of doing it if you knew alot about general space history. Although really if you payed attention in the history briefing they gave you before the test you could answer the questions easily. I guess not alot of people on my teams did because i must have scored verry highly since i always got my first choice of position at camp and academy.

It really depends on what you like to decide what track to be. If you like to be in control, you'd be best as a pilot/commander. If you are more interested in the science aspect, payload specialist would probably be best. Keep in mind, if you are a PS you are in charge of the medical anomlies. The last position is mission specialist. If you want to do space walks this is the spot for you. Just hope you don't get stuck as PROP in MOCR, it's the only position that doesn't do anything. (that might have changed when they redid MOCR).

Well my previous post was refering to camp and academy. Thats the great thing about ASA though you get to chose ahead of time what youd like to be.

Be a MISSION SPECIALIST! You get to float around and be peter pan and look really stupid and get tangled up in your tether! Or you could be on the Canada arm, that also works.

Well with the test we took to get the positions at camp and academy i scored high enough to probably be anything i wanted. Heck i could have been commander at camp but picked pilot initially then commander at academy. I liked being in the front seat in control of the shuttle and not just along for the ride.

I hate being along for the ride. I'm a back seat sriver and I'd probably cause the crew to go insane.

I Know! I am such a back seat driver. I couldn't stand sitting there as an MS watching the PLT and the CDR doing checklists. I just decided to look at the cool roll maneuver from the top of the window.

I like pilot better than MS but I do PS this summer. If I go back as an adult I'd be a MS because I want to try the superman thing.

I think I've said this before, but we switched tracks for our last 1 hour mission and I could never do the MS thing. I like to be in control and flipping lots of switches.
