Two parents can go, but only pairs can be commander/pilot and mission specialists (although occasionally groups of 3 may do an EVA) So if you have your heart set on being Commander and pilot going in a pair is you best bet. Groups of 3 usually end up in Mission Control and Station.

Well, depending on your kid the Commander/Pilot spots might be overrated anyways. My son and I didn't get those positions, but he said ours were better. We were mission specialists for one and he liked that one cause we got to do the "space walk". We were in the ISS as scientists for another. He loved this one cause we did some experiments (similar/same as ones u get in box science experiment sets), which he has always liked doing. We were also at mission control for one, but I don't remember our exact roles (we did 4-day, so 3 missions). Anyhow, my point is, my son said he thought the Commander/Pilot roles were overrated. Most of the kids wanted to do it, but my kiddo said our roles were better cause we were "actually doing stuff, not just reading the script and flipping switches".

No matter what your roles are though, I'm sure you'll have fun. I really can't give a high enough recommendation to Space Camp. My son absolutely loved it. He will be unwrapping an Aviation Challenge brochure for Christmas this year too, cause we are going back. I was hoping to get him an AC T-shirt to unwrap, but they don't seem to sell them on-line.

We did the flight simulators - he shot down his Dad, so he was pretty pumped. And had a couple of big missions - parents against the kids - which was very fun. We did the helo dunker and lift, the night mission, water survival, they got to patrol as a group throughout the barrack (they loved that), and land survival. They also got to sit in the chair that spins. The only thing we could not do was the centrifuge becasue it was broken.

It was an amazing time! It was well worth the money!
