Anyone not stay in the HAB and stay at the hotel instead?

Post by JennyGirl »

Just wondering if there are those who opted to stay in the hotel instead of the HAB and if so, why? Was it due to a past bad experience or just because you wanted extra amenities/services?

I've always stayed in the Hab just to get the full experience of the session. To me it's another sim.

It completes the whole mood of Space Camp. It just wouldn't be the same experience sleeping at the Mariott.

We had one guy in my adult session who stayed at the hotel because his wife drove to Huntsville with him and was staying there. He figured if he alread had a paid-for hotel room he would enjoy it. (Personally, I would still stay in the Hab...)

The hab is the best way to go. You are rooming with teammates, so more bonding will happen over late-night chats (if you aren't too tired!). Also, going as an adult, you may stay out late anyways, and won't be spending much time in the hab. I do suggest bringing a blanket (along with sweatpants or pajama pants and a sweatshirt) because the hab is very cold at night, and the blanket that you are given doesn't do much. I brought a huge suitcase with me for my weekend stay, and I had a decent sized blanket inside of it.

You can also ask and get another blanket. I had no problem getting a spare when I asked when I checked in. I still needed a sweat shirt one night though.

My roommate did that, and she had brought her own blanket too. Those blankets are way too thin for the temperature that they keep the hab.

Beware of horrendously snoring team mates!

I slept in the hall the first night to get away from it. They had no problems finding me another room in the Hab for the rest of the week.

How many people do they stick in one room? I didn't even think they were sticking people in roommates in the adult camp. Guess I shouldn't have made that assumption.

There were only 2 of us in my room, but the other female room had 5 I believe. The most there can be is 7 per room, but usually they don't put that many adults into one room.

Yeah, we had three adults in a room to start with. Then w found out one person snored EXTREMELY loud. So loud I only slept for an hour, tops, and that was in the hallway. Next night, she had a room to herself.

I think they are pretty flexible with adult room assignments, probably because we have no curfew and don't need a counsellor to wake us up in the morning.

Snoring Roommates

Post by Conan »

I have usually shared with 2 or 3 other adults. Now I always bring a white noise generator. It is a wonderful invention. It allows me to sleep through snoring and through the constant door slamming and other noises that drift up the center of the hab. I highly recommend one if you can get it.
