2nd time around as good as the 1st?

Post by Comet »

Hey, I'm new around here but I just got back from AC MachIII last week.
I had such an awesome time I'm thinking of draining my savings to go again, perhaps to the 12 day program. Is it worth it? I really don't know if I could top last week. For all of you who have been multiple times, did you enjoy the 2nd time as well as the 1st? Thanks

I enjoyed my second trip to space camp more than the first! I think it always gets better because its never the same experience. Most people here will probably tell you the same thing since we just can't stop going back.

I agree, the more you go the more enjoyable the trips get.

I loved my experiences so much (all 8 times) that I decided to go back as a counselor...

There's a reason my counselor call-sign is Repeat - it's because they can't get me to stay away!

yea i definately had a good time EVERYtime i went but the most fun was definately my last 2 weeks there

MachIII: really awesome counselors, Irish and Pipes, only 2 regular Mach III teams that week because of the 8 day, so we got a lot of extra time doing things, and so it eventually turned out to be like 1 huge team with 4 awesome counselors and even though our first missions were terrible our last one was supposedly one of the highest scores that they had ever seen

AA: this week was once again awesome counselors. jedi and krispy, met some of the coolest people ever, had our edm right after a tornado warning at like 6:00 at night, and met vincent and signed the hab1 poster

those above all are the two weeks that made me really decide to come back and be a counselor at some point

You can apply for scholarships.
You can go during autumn, winter, or spring when tuition is cheaper.
You can ask Vincent for the e-mail coupon he got but can't use. ;)
I think you get a discount with the Liftoff CD, if you have it.

You'd have to ask Vincent. I don't even know if he could/would give it away.

As for the Liftoff CD, I think it's the Liftoff CD... I think you just have to quote discount code 'liftoff' to get the discount. I don't know if they still offer that discount though.

Just order the magnets!

You can get the coupon that way. I would post the discount code for all, but I don't want anyone at Space Camp thinking a discount is getting abused if I post it here.

What we need is a Hab1.com discount code!

i say go as many times as you can pull off... i went 6 times, and did the same program 3 of the 6 years. no matter how times you go, it will never be the same as the year before, you always pick up something you missed before and make great friends!

Thanks guys.
Hopefully I'll get to go back another time, and improve my dogfighting skills in the sims.

My first time at AC was definitely one of the most memorable... but other times were just as great... have to admit I had the most fun when there were less campers at camp... :) It's super duper fun always though. :) And the staff is awesome and always will be I think.

Haha. That would be very good for space camp considering the majority of this forum is the target audience multiplied by 10.

Going back more than once is definately worth it. For me each year only got better and better when i went back. And each year is a new experiance with new people.

I'll add my two bits to the pool of similar thoughts... every time I have returned to Space Camp was better than the time before. I think the weeks build on each other, adding to the enjoyment. I cannot exactly say why this is... maybe it is an addiction of sorts... or maybe it is because you get to know the place better, get to know the sims better, and have more experience there. Either way, you will thoroughly enjoy going for a second, third, fourth... time.
