Where are you guys?

A place for ACers to come and hang out after a hard day of escape-and-evade or survival training.

Spanky? Sandrat? Joker? Gordo? Doolittle? Grunt?

Anybody know?
We got two categories of pilots around here. We got your prime pilots that get all the hot planes, and we got your pud-knockers who dream about getting the hot planes. Now what are you two pud-knockers gonna have?

I know... the Barracks have been so dead lately. I love the Barracks. Where did everybody go?

Where is Gordo?

Post by gordo »

Gordo rarely stops by the forum. Not because he doesn't enjoy it, but he's typically busy with other pursuits. He does stop by from time to time, typically when he hears of some interesting post or has something thoughtful or interesting he wants to share.

He's also had trouble with referring to himself in the royal third.

I check up on this place every once in a while. For the time being I'm out in San Diego on my summer cruise with the Navy doing some pretty awesome stuff...

Where are you?

Post by gordo »

Given the quietness of the board I thought I would reply to this again.

The HoF event was only a few weeks ago and the first [hopefully not last] AC grad was inducted [WAY TO GO, SAFETY!].

There have been former trainees from back in day when I was a counselor now working as counselors themselves.

Aviation Challenge has been around since 1991/1992, over 15 years of high speed low drag.

The question is not where are Spanky, Joker, Rat and Gordo....

The question is, where are you?

Trainees on my teams should be graduating or have graduated college by now. I can only hope that your experiences at camp encouraged you to drive farther, go higher, and faster than you dreamed.

Where are you?

Didnt we go through all this a while ago? I can certainly post again that I am in Stuttgart right now, flying as a First Officer for Lufthansa, allready with the promotion to Captain lurking through the dense underbrush of aviation, with any luck before I turn 25 at the end of this year.

I was in christmascamp 2000/2001, with the Black Panthers, and Ballistic and Nat as counselors.

Well after working a summer as an AC counselor last year i came back to Virginia and am working once again in education for NASA Langley's viaitor center inspiring the next generation of Astronauts, scientists, pilots and engineers. I have been busy with our summer programs this year and we are just now finishng those up today. We had a great group pf students come through here this summer and thoutgh it isnt Aviation Challenge or Space Camp it is the same job in a new location.

Years ago I was attending a Georgia Tech football game and my family and I walked past the Air Force ROTC building. There was a sign outside that read "AFROTC". My son asked me "Hey Dad. What's AFRO TC?"
