We did that one when I went to AC (assuming that it was the original). It was fun!

Kosan went through many iterations, but the T-Ops briefing and the resulting mission scenarios made the Mach III experience memorable. That was the whole intent.

I did the Kosan T-Ops... I know I did it before they started doing the major changes (the bad, making T-Ops not T-Ops anymore changes, no offense if you like the newer way...). Being scared crudless by Grunt and Doolittle... add in some Balistic and a few others and it was quite a night to remember. :)

I did the Kosan stuff in June of 02 which sounds like it was pretty close to the original at that point. I remember it being a blast even if i was possibly the worst navigator to ever enter the sim bay.

space nerd - you did Kosan in 02? I don't remember whether I did Kosan or not, but I thought they'd switched over to Ardan by then - maybe I'm wrong (or they had for my week, or I'm remembering the wrong year).

Spanky will be back on later, but I'm pretty sure they were still flying Kosan in 2002 and switched to Ardan 2003/2004.

ok, then it was 2003 I remembered.

I went to Mach III in 2000 and 2001, took a break in 2002, and came back for 2003 and found a lot had changed.

Now I'm back as a counselor, and Ardan is still in place (though not for too much longer - I'm told next year will probably be a new one).

Yeah we fought the KOSAN war from 1996 (X-MAS camp) until early-mid spring in 2004. We did run the first ARDAN missions in X-mas camp 2003 to try out the ideas and concepts and ploished them up that sping. Hostage worked his butt off on that stuff and turned out a good product.

To really make a great T-ops though, you need good characters....hince T-ops. We had characters built around the briefing.

In 1998, we even did a "Top Gun" T-ops where each one of the brifers became characters form the movie "Top Gun". From an entertaining stand point, this is still one of the greates T-ops ever.

Kosan was a combo war of Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf War 1. It was really detailed at first and had several good "bad guys" that you could really focus on. Joker had his M3 team one week in full flight gear. We have tried that with other groups, but it is tough to outfit 60 kids with all of the gear.

Until next time....

No, no, no, no, no.....

The best ever was when we graded the trainee's mission briefings for their final mission and the team dressed up in bedsheets and turbans, with duct tape patches with the name of a certain southwest-Asian nation whom we've invaded twice and briefed me.

And they had a moment of "prayer" and I very nearly lost my professional composure and busted out laughing. My stomach hurt for the only time in my life from laughing when I couldn't laugh.

I haven't been to christmas camp ever, but I did arrive in Huntsville for spring training in mid-January - and I thought the weather was gorgeous. And it was still pretty nice when I came back in March...

The weather isn't bad until the summer, apparently.

The only reason i remember that it was Kosan for sure was that some kid asked if it was a real country... We promptly laughed at him.

Ah Summer in huntsville isnt so bad as long as you dont mind heat that could fry an egg on the sidewalk and humidity high enough to curl titanium. But hay whats so bad about that you look like you just took a shower any time you step outside for more than 5 minutes out of the shade. But it sure does make the lake feel good i know it did when i was at AC.

Ahaha. I'm from Michigan and I love the summers in Huntsville. We'll see how I like the summers in Arizona pretty soon. That's heat you could fry an egg on.

yeah North Dakota to Alabama is pretty bad too, next year in Nashville will be tough enough. I don't know if I can survive without blizzards and windchills of -30.
