I don't know about purdue but if you're going for a university with a "college town" feeling uah isn't it. I live 15ish min. away from uah it isn't the type of town where you know everyone there is a college student. My friends and I use uah's library and dual enroll there...I'm a bit behind my friends and am taking a couple of summer courses b/f dual enrolling next year...

Purdue is awesome!
I'm actually considering going there. But it is a really long way away.
There are so many colleges; I have no idea how anyone can decide where go.

I went to UAH Friday-Saturday, and I'm going to Purdue tomorrow. I should be deciding soon and I'm pretty sure I know what it's gonna be (IM or PM me if you want to know). I can't believe how stressed out I've been about this decision though.

Boilers

Post by HurricaneErin »

All i have to say is "GO BOILERS". Being a Junior in Aeronautical and Astronautical engineering at Purdue, I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather go. I think Purdue has an awesome aero/astro program, and if anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm not sure where I want to go yet. I have to decide soon though, lol, it's that time. My instate options are Oregon State University (lead of the Oregon space grant consortium, and it's fairly close to home) or Eastern Oregon University. My uncle is dean of housing at EOU, plus if I keep my GPA where it is, I can more than likely get a full four years paid for. Money is a big issue, so EOU is looking nice. I figured that I'd go to graduate school after that, a small, close to home school for my first four years might be good, then go bigger for more schooling.

Like with spacemusician, a good music program is important to me. If for some reason my interest in science wanes, music is my back up. Two very different things, but both make up who I am, so a good science and music program is really important to me.

Its good that you took stock of whats important to you when deciding. That way it will be much easier to change majors if need be! Good thinking!

I thought i knew where i wanted to go after i finish my associates degree (UAH) but now i'm really not so sure. I'm considering University of Michigan or one of the other 50 colleges in michigan lol. You'll probably change your mind in small ways about a million times before you get out of college. Be prepared for change. :D

I kinda know where i want to go to college... either one of the service academies or Stanford, only stanford because i have some serious conncetions that can get me in without any academic merit, which i sorta have but not up to stanford level. yay for connections

Connections are nice, lol. I asked my mom if she thought if I went to EOU I could get like a suite for a dorm room . . .since my uncle is dean of housing.

ok someone here goes to rpi..i cant remember who though..ethan? or dan?
anyway -- i looked at rpi when i was doing the whole college search deal and didnt like troy, and ended up at clarkson. and rpi beat us in hockey and it was sad. but now, i want to transfer, and i'm thinking rpi, so i guess i'm curious about how your experience has been so far at rpi?
i'll be a 2nd semester freshman since i had to take a medical leave of absence for the rest of this semester which sucks. but whatever.
