Military vehicle show...

Post by p51 »

The Military Vehicle Preservation Association had their annual convention in Huntsville recently, but this year's one was in Portland, Oregon and just ended today.
It was a blast. The WW2 War Corresondent display I set up with a collector friend of mine went well (you only see about 1/4 of it in these shots, i could never get a full show of the whole thing), I was pleased with how it turned out, and was certainly pleased with our joint display overall.
We didn't win any awards, though, but that wasn't why we set it up, anyway.

And here are some shots from some of the more interesting stuff I saw:

Fat lot of good going there did.
Ours was the only large display at the event that was never mentioned in any of the group's web or print media. The magazine coverage specifically didn't mention us at all, the only large display which was never mentioned.
I wasted a week's vacation (which is almost impossible to get where I work) and a lot of money on the hotel just to be specifially left out of any mention of the event.
And I'm a regualr contributor to that magazine. At least, I used to be. I'll never waste my time with them again.
