Right-o... an update...
We got to choose which launch we would see. Since Kayla is in school, we chose STS-118 in June 2007 because it would fit into her schedule better than the December and February missions.
Then, when asked if she could bring an international guest, they said she could, so I'm going! There will be a bunch of paperwork because I'm a foreigner, but I'll do whatever monkey tricks they want so I can see the launch!
Lastly, they asked us to think of ways we want to 'share the experience with others' via blogging, journalling, photos, video camera footage, etc. We would have done all that stuff to begin with, but if they are going to help provide the means for it, we won't turn it down.
Update complete... for now...

Well thats really coll you got to chose which launch to go to also. I don't know if you are aware of it or not but STS-118 is kind if s apecial flight as well. The reason being that one of the Mission Specialist on that crew is Barbra Morgan. For those who don't know who she is she first joined NASA in June 1985 as the backup Teacher in Space Payload specialist. She was Christa Mcauliffes backup on STS-51L and even after the accident she remained with NASA helping their educational programs for the next year or so. She eventually left NASA then Dan Goldin initiated the Educator Astronaut Program. She returned to NASA in 1998 as a full mission specialist this time unlike Mcaullife who was only to be a 1 time flyer like most payload specialists. She was assigned to the 118 crew before the Columbia accident and will carry a the third starbord truss segment and a space hab single cargo moodule. So after more than 20 years she will fly in space and in a way fulfil the teacher in space dream that many thought died with Challenger.
Ironicly at the time of the Columbia Accident 118 was supose to fly on Columbia it would have been Columbias first mission to the ISS. Sadly people heard this and alot of stories went around the internet that she had died on Columbia which was totaly false but i remember alot of people talking about it and believing it.

STS-118 Also is special because Daivd WIlliams is a Canadian Astronaut, so Jennifer is off the walls to get to see a launch with one of her country's heros.
I am excited because Tracy Cladwell is going up, and I spent a few mins with her and Cady Colmen on the ISS sim. at Johnson Space Center a few years back.....
And the best part about it, will be that NASA has unoffically Okayed Jennifer to go!!!
I could not think of anyone else to take with me!!!

This mission is definitely worth waiting for. Dave Williams and Barbara Morgan... does it get any better?
The Edmonton science centre wants me to do a presentation when I return. I volunteer in the education department there, so it would be very fitting. They also want to get the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) involved. Should be interesting. I'm definitely excited. Yay for Canada!

Ahh man that's awsome. I wish I could see a shuttle launch. Almost got to see one land but my dad didn't want to get up at three in the morning to go to the desert for twenty minutes. The closest I have ever seen to a shutle launch is a rocket launch. That is the wierdest thing to be driving and look out your windod to see this big thing going up into the sky leaving a puff of smoke behind it. Just one of those things you can never get use to, you just want to stop and stare until it is no longer visiable. Have fun and good luck on your presentation.
being in jacksonville i'm definately going to have to drive down to the cape to see at least one launch, i'm so happy that i'm only like an hour and a half away!

Okay so we still do not know hardly anything about the trip yet. NASA pretty much saying its too early to think about the STS 118 launch and details not with 2 other launches first.
BBUT good news is we are up to 99% certinty that the International Office will get Jennifer the Go! and let her come with me...
