SNOW!!

Post by stargazer0105 »

So I'm sitting on my bed in my room studying (well sorta), and my cell phone rings. My friend is like go outside it's snowing. I didn't believe her so I went outside and lo and behold it is snowing in Huntsville. Yay! Now if only we could get a few inches to stick.

Give me your address i'll give you as much snow as you want. I'm looking outside and hoping that they get the roads cleared by 8 am so that i can get to class tomorrow morning. We had a really nice spring type session for almost three weeks but now the snow is back which means leaving early and getting home late and the posibility of sliding off the road at some time in between. I hate snow. I mean its very pretty but i hate it.

This is so unbelievably NOT FAIR!! I saw the snow, what I originally thought was rain, falling on the webcam yesterday. I am so jealous. We have such a bizarre winter up here this year: mild temperatures (about 12 F) and very little humidity, meaning very little snow. Please send some snow up here. I do not care how ugly a storm it is, I want snow!

I know what you are thinking... crazy Canadians... but snow really helps us (me) cope with the darkness and (usually) cold temparatures of winter.

Yep, it was snowing about 8:30 last night. And as far as pants go, I went through 2 pair yesterday b/c I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and walked through one of those wonderful ankle deep puddles we have all over campus. I was sooo excited when I woke up this morning and saw sunshine and not rain though.

When i woke up this morning i saw nothing but white. I love getting up at 8 and walking outside in my pjs to start my car. Its a lovely image, trust me. Most the high schools in the area were closed this morning except for my old high school. My college never closes unless something physically happens to the school. The teachers sometimes cancel classes but i usually dont find that out until after my 2 hour death drive because nobody will ever call me. *sigh* I guess it doesn't much matter since none of my classes were canceled today anyway.

I don't find the snow nearly as amusing as people who don't get to see it but i do enjoy their excitement.

sat. night I had all the v. tennis girls over my house for a sleep over before we left for u of al the next morning and around midnight they all ran outside and we took pictures...it stuck to the ground at my house (madison, al) but a few streets closer to huntsville the ground was bare...it was fun...

Haha. I come from the UP bring it on. :P I don't get snow days. We have semi-excused death days where the teachers don't despise you as much for missing your class if there was a significant risk to your life. You still get a note from the counseling office inviting you to come in and talk though. Thank goodness i'm leaving.

when I was landing in huntsville this past week I saw the snow on the ground and was so dissapointed. Huntsville is usually my winter vacation in the tropics, but the week ended up being cold.
