I hate that about movies based on books. They often skrew up the plots. The books are usually so much better.

Very much so! The movie wasn't bad . . .it was just sooo different. The "Time Traveler" had a name, I think it would have been cool if they kept the name mysterious like in the book and just called him "the Time Traveler" the whole time.

man this year in AP English we had to read so many boring books, i couldn't stand it. We read: The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, Macbeth, Oedipus Rex, Medea, Lysistrata, Death of a Salesman, Heart of Darkness, The Glass Menagerie, Invisible Man (by: Ralph Ellison), and some more from our Literary Analysis book, plus poetry. It was a horrible year. I just went on sparknote.com the whole year. Sparknotes.com is my friend :)

I think that most books should never be turned into movies, it just makes them so much worse.

At least you're not having any Ethan Frome damage inflicted upon you!

What a terrible book.

Wow. For my AP English class, we didn't read those! Although I have had to read them for other classes along the way, and for the most part, I agree with you :? For AP English though, we read The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, The Death of Ivan Illych, Cat's Cradle, The Lathe of Heaven, Siddhartha, King Lear... and a few others but those were the memorable ones.:) They weren't that bad, I liked that class. I won't go into how I did on the EXAM, but the class was fun!:)

That's all that really matters, right? As long as the class was fun!

The language arts teacher I had this year told us a story of how after reading the Scarlet Letter, one of his students went out and bought a cheap copy, then threw it in the fire and filmed the burning of it. They video taped all of this then gave it to the teacher, lol. Needless to say they didn't like the book.

Anybody think that the Canturbury tales was incredibly boring? It was like aesop's fables but older and possibly more annoying.
