Umm... I just returned from ASA and Joel is clearly still there. Last year, he was at the UAT but he didn't give us the lecture... kind of strange, I know. The year before that, I think he gave the intro lecture. He also drew a "portrait" of one of my teammates on the back of his name badge... that was quite funny. I don't remember him for the other four years before that...

Which is coming up soon. Very soon. Lindsey may still see him, though. She'll have to give us a report.

Ah Sara knows it all...

Joel HAS been working only weekends for a long time.
Believe it or not, I will not be back this summer. And probably never again!

Sumone told me a bunch of peoples were talking about me on this hab1.com thing so i had to see what all the hub bub was.

Tis true i am leaving space camp. Tomorrow is my last day--at least until i bring a group of kids as a chaperone. I am now the 7th and 8th grade science teacher at a private school in Tennessee--they gonna pay for my masters in counseling psych so that is a real bonus. And no i wont say the name or where it is. My office is all empty now--jes me and "mini grump" sitting in his tank oh and all the stuff i don't own and the all the fan letters Orion 8 sent me--gee i don't think he likes me too much--[darn] and me without any tissues. Truth is, in my 9 years i have never sent a single camper home. I fire lots and lots of counselors tho

Ok enuf of this sentamental crap. bye. and my replacement is someone who has been here even longer than me--yes that is possible.---

For real--Space Camp has been the changing point in my life--I've finished 2 degrees here (add. psych and teaching) gained a godson- lost bout a million lbs in sweat, got some grey hair, a few ulcers, and drank all my paychecks away, been on tv a bunch, in a movie( u can find it at Walmart--god am i proud) met actors and their kids, famous folks and their kids, astronauts, and learnt to speak the shizzel! and it gave my life direction---otherwise i would still be driving ambulances all over Tennessee and never wulda met folks like you and "ROCKED YOUR WORLD" aint that scary.

see ya--take care and remember Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. -George Bernard Shaw

JOEL!!!!!!!!!! OK, you may remember me (probably not from past sessions, but at the airport after X-Mas camp, I got to go to the "short" line), but even if you don't, I'm glad you came to camp, you ment a lot to a lot of people (especially people like Sara). Before you leave (and I'm hoping you haven't by the time you read this), you should see Arlisa (the counselor) and sign our poster. It'd mean a ton.

Have fun in Tennessee, we all wish you well.

BTW, I didn't know you were in a movie. What is it?

Case in point....haha I am going to miss Joel! I am still scared of him, lol. He has kinda always been there to torment me. I don't know what I am going to do in a few days when I am there and he is not!

You meet the new guy and make friends (well, maybe enemies in his view...). I think you'll survive.

I know who the new guy is and he is awesome too. Dave Rockey. He gave me my right stuff award and we had a kid on my christmas camp team that everyone thought he looked like Dave. Anyway, the guy is cool and the last time I was there he recognized me so go figure.

Cool, can't wait to meet him. You won't introduce me, btw, because then, he might associate you with me and this isn't good, for the obvious reasons.

Yeah, I talked to Joel while I was there last week. He basically told me what he said in his post. He may not have really known me personally, but I think everyone knows who he is.

yeah i highly doubt he remembered me after either time since i had little to no intereaction with him, i mean we talked breifly a couple of times but so did thousands of other kids. but i totally remembered him when i went back. like you said, even though he doesnt know every name, like everyone knows joel.
i think he will be an awesome teacher. and it would be cool if he did take groups back to space camp as a chaperone.
