Re: 2016
One year, a team member kept obviously flirting with our Crew Trainer. We gave him the callsign Tailgunner.

Re: 2016
Okay, two of the three crew trainers I've worked with were young and very pretty, so I can see the appeal of them. But for me, it comes down to this:Phoenix PK wrote:One year, a team member kept obviously flirting with our Crew Trainer.
1. I'm married and in my 40s. 20-somethings, even if I were single, just don't do it for me like they did when I was in my 20s.
2. I love my wife. A lot. I'd never do something that crazy, even if I knew I'd never get caught (or that the woman would return the affection attempts at all)
3. I've seen enough of the "deployment romance" hookups in the Army. I find it disgusting.
4. When I go to Space Camp, my primary focus is the training and the experience. Cheap tawdry thrills, even if that was my thing (which, it isn't), I could get a lot closer to home and for a lot less money expended.
5. See #s 1 and 2 again because it bears emphasizing both of them.
I used to hit sci-fi conventions in my teens and 20s, and I knew a guy who'd come with us, pay an equal share of whatever room we'd all hang in and crash at (usually a couple of them), but he only kept his bags there as he'd look to hook up with some sci-fi girl and we rarely would see him before it was time to get onto the hotel bus to the airport. It worked most of the time. But he'd always miss the entire con, shell out a LOT of money and I never understood the economics of that. We all lived in a college town and hookups weren't that tough if you had any game at all. So any time I hear or see if that going on a SC, I just don't get it.

1. Not all adults who attend Space Camp are married or otherwise in a relationship back home.
2. Space Camp has a track record of people meeting at camp and eventually getting married. It is a real thing. I know of at least two couples that met at camp and are now happily married.

Oh, I get that. That list was for myself.SpaceCanada wrote:Not all adults who attend Space Camp are married or otherwise in a relationship back home.
That said, I still think my #4 on my list was a very valid point:
