Anyone have a clue what a blank trainer badge would have been used for?

Come on, Street? Saint? Someone must know what a blank trainer badge would have been used for...
Don't worry, I won't be coming to Huntsville wearing the thing!

I imagine it was a test run of sorts and someone grabbed it out of the refuse.

Vincent is probably right. This style of badge is used for the RA Crew Trainers.

Thanks for the info, I couldn't understand what this was for. It came with a grouping of NASA/SC stuff, including three SC stickers on a long sheet, never seen any of those before as well...

We had stickers back in 1998 and 1999 - for rocketry and random general use. I don't know when they stopped making/using them. I wish they still existed.

The thing has a white backing and a bar code. Sure would be curious what a reader would say for that barcode, but there's no way it's going back to Huntsville...

I would have said looks like a blank badge that just never had a picture of the crew trainer out on it but then i don't know the process used and if their are just blank badges they put the photo on or if they do all the graphics at once. I just know we had our pohotos taken first thing the first day of training then before our lunch break we had our badges. The barcode on the back actually serves as a way to clock in and out on the job the crew trainer just runs it through a scanner which are located all around the facility and enters a code as to what they are doing be it team, support, or something else.

RA temp badge maybe? Used by RAs before their actual badges are issued. The yellow top indicates RA. Non-RA staff ( like myself) have a red top.
