Other far destinations

Just a note, because I haven't been here for a while. Some time after Alumni Camp (25th Anniv) I joined the Foreign Service and am currently serving at my first post in Benin, West Africa. No, that is not one of the TAL sites! Although we have people at the TAL sites. The Foreign Service are America's diplomats, staffing embassies and consulates around the world.

Those of you at the 25th Anniversary camp will remember I arrived late, because my flight was cancelled and I had to drive from DC. One of the folks on that ride was a Foreign Service officer who had flown 24 hours from Iraq to see his kid graduate from Space Camp. He ended up being one of my references.

Not space, but Africa is a whole 'nother world!

Wow!

One of the girls I went to Girl Guides with, and later took ballet lessons with as an adult, is now a diplomat too. It's an incredible job. Congrats!

...she's part of the Canadian Foreign Service. I got to know some of those folks from curling at the Potomac Curling Club outside Washington.
