just thought i'd share some of my old Space Camp stuff! get ready for a little trip back in time...

If you bought a coke at the Space & Rocket Center in 1994, you probably drank it out of one of these (25th anniversary of Apollo 11):

When the first Apple Macintosh computers came out, Space Campers got a deal. Here's the brochure they sent out to us in 1990:

I have tons more. Old Space Gear catalogs, museam brochures, various mail-outs, even some unused Shuttle Bucks. Finding all this old stuff in the endless array of boxes in my closet is the only problem!

Wow that stuff takes me back. I had most of those camp brochures. I stioll have my academy level 1 book that looks just like that from 1993 and a camp book that is similar to the academy one from 1991 though it's ssmaller than the academy book. I remember those right stuff awards they use to look alot nicer than they do now. And i believe that computer deal went on fopr a few years because i remember getting one later than that too. And the space gear catalogs were always cool as well wish they still did those. The website is ok but i liked having a hard copy catalog sent to me with the brochures as well. And Space Camp News was great for the years they did it.

Man all that stuff brings back memories. I wisgh i had thought to keep all of that. I still have alot of stuff but nothing like you do amount wise.

I can't help but notice how Space Camp still uses many of the same pictures in their advertisements. Perhaps they could update them a little...

Spanky, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to take pix and scans of some of your truly historical Space Camp swag.

I gotta find my team pic of Space Camp Level I, May 26-31, 1985. Sun Team, baby. White red-ring T-shirts and swank orange visors. And ridiculously tall tube socks.

I still have the orange visor. Because I am a dork.

ah yes, the red ringer shirts with huge logo on the front. i still have mine from '89, along with the cobalt blue camp shorts and black visor...

Yeah i was there near the end of that wra in 1991. Still had the red and white ringer t-shirt with the huge klogo on the front. And either your team name or US Space and Rocket Center on the back. I was on Teledyne brown team so we had the team name on the back and we had the brown visor talk about ugly. I don't know whatever happened to my shirt though but i do still have my visot. As i recall academy teams had had a nicr black ball cap though.

I still have my Level I, black ball cap from summer of 1989. I think it may still have my name tag on it. I was on Rockwell team. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where my wings from that trip are. I know where my (new design and much cooler) wings are from when I did Level II in summers of 1991 and 1992. And my Right Stuff (from summer 1992) medal is hanging in my office. And I think I know where my log books from all three trips are...I think.

I'm not special enough to have older memorabelia, but I have everything from my three trips to Space Camp - programme books, shirts, clothing package, all my letters and camp information sheets, etc.

I guess the only 'old' thing I have is the clothing package before the tri-logo was introduced. The t-shirt is the same but the shorts (still really off-fitting) have a programme-specific logo and then the sweater and sweatpants has the programme name (SC, SA, or AC) written in big block letters. I also have the older light blue flight suit.

It's not quite as special as everyone else here, but I try... I only found out about Space Camp when I was 14, otherwise I would have gone the moment I turned 9!

Oh i still have all my wings and log books. My visor i still have but its showing its age and i must have done alot of sweating that summer because it shows on the front of the visor. I have all my name tags except 91 that one fell apart they werent as good quality in those days. Also have my right stuff award from 98 and all my old team photos as well as a bunch of space camp patches i've collected over the years a space camp watrer bottle i got in 98 and my t-shorts from 96 and 98. I wish i had thought to hold on to all my old program guides and space camp news issues dont know why i didnt but i still have some of the old program guides from the late 90s. And i still have my flight suit i got in 91 and also wore in 93 though its long sense too small for me to wear. I also have my leather flight suit name tags one i got with my flight suit in 91 and the other a counselor gave me with my callsign in 96. Oh i also have my AC dog tags. So i have held onto alot over the years and plan to for the rest of my life.

I have to ask you... Might you list the actual dates of the SpaceCamp NEWS issues you have? I have all of mine from 1989 and am curious to know if those were the only years they were produced or not....

Ha! I just found today my team picture from 1989... no, actually it's of all the space campers... a sea of colored visors in the Rocket Park. Luckily I was Neptune which was a dark blue (matching my baby blues... ha!). Noticed my shirt does just say "Alabama Space and Rocket Center." Huh, how 'bout that!

And I still have my light blue flight suit... ugggh! I'm so glad to have been an AC counselor... much better attire (in my ever NOT so humble opinion!).

Cool, thanks. Looks like I am missing Fall 1993 and Spring 1994. I have:

5.2: Fall 1989
6.1: Spring 1990
6.2: Fall 1990
6.3: December 1990
7.1: Spring 1991
7.2: Summer 1991
8.1: Winter 1992
8.2: Summer 1992
9.1: Winter 1993
9.2: "Special Edition"

No one I know has before Fall 1989... so I wonder if there really was something prior or if they just picked that volume number to start off with...
