actually rycho, i've gotten sharpie off of somethings, so it's possible, just very difficult. And i agree, i wouldn't want ot have to scrub it off. I wonder if they ever do, because there was stuff from 2002 on it.

It isn't actually that hard to rub it off. If sharpie is on a smooth surface like a mirror or white board (you get the point) you use dryerase markers. If you write over sharpie w/ dry erase markers and rub it off it comes right off, no problem. On walls, you're screwed.

You think that was bad? I was there the summer when skunks got trapped in the air vents of the hab one night. The entire building went into chaos as campers in every sleep bay were overcome with the raunchy polecat odor of Alabama skunks on an August summer night! Trust me you did not want to be the guy sleeping next to the air vent that night!!!

I remember that happened to me at Aviation challenge in 1996 or something similar. We think a skunk sprayed the air conditioning unit the first night. Thankfully it didnt affect my room but you had to hold your breath in the hallway.

That would happen to the classrooms in high school all the time. The skunks live under them. They are always spraying. There is one classroom that is extremley bad.

Thankfully, I have never had a bad encounter with a skunk.

However, at Guide camp this summer the security crew had a count of how many nights they went skunk-free. Between unpleasant odourant and skunks raiding their lunches, I think Security lost every day but one! (of 14 days!) I felt bad for them - showers at camp were solar/gravity powered.

I saw cockroaches for the first time at Space Camp. They were outside Hab II in the shrubbery. I thought they were quite interesting... my team mates thought I was metally ill. Really though, big flat, weird looking bugs... a lot different from the spiders and beetles I'm used to up here.
