Pink Hats

Post by JewishSquid »

ahhh, i just got back from week 40 asa, that was fun, i was on the von braun team with a couple of my friends, and in the end we started a pink hats craze, anyone in week 41 or above that catches this thread should start it also, we got all the hats from the Space Shop store and they only cost 5 dollars, it says Space and Rocket Center on them, but it was so funny, a ton of A S A had bought the hats after the 4 of us wore em around camp for aboout a day.

Edit:
Just thought i would post a pic:

Yup, some here.

Worst part is, the first time I was there, I heard that some really big names, like Neil Armstrong and stuff, had passed thru the lunchroom while my team hadn't been there or something!

Hmm... it seems they didn't go for much creativity when naming the various 12-day teams... mine was Liberty Belll, too...

I've met Buzz Aldrin... not at camp, but at the USSRC, June 11th, 2000. It was for a talk and book signing about his (co-written?) book The Return (and promoting space travel/tourism). I have met astronaut Claude Nicollier at a local science center (Fernbank! :D), and I have met Homer Hickam Jr, the author of Rocket Boys (later turned into the movie "October Sky") at a book signing of The Coalwood Way.

WOW. LUCKY. You have met a lot of people!!! And people from the 60s! That is... amazing. :D And most at this museum you work at? Where do you work? I need to go there. Either to work, or just to scope out astronauts. *blushes*

That's OK... you will, and if you don't, they're people, just like you and me except they go to space :D.
Besides maybe one day you will become one and then you'll meet plenty...:)

Oh, I'm going to space... I'm completely sure of that.

It just might be as a "space tourist," not as an astronaut.

I've met Rick Searfoss, Harrison Schmitt, Story Musgrave, Marsha Ivins, and Michael Fincke, but not at space camp. I'll probably meet 15-20 more astronauts when I go to an astronaut autograph show next month - I'm so excited! http://www.autographshows.net
