Mission Patches Online

Post by SpaceCanada »

While perusing the Space Camp website I noticed a new link at the top of the page: Mission Patches. I thought it would have something to do with the $10 team patches you can buy at the end of the week, but no... Space Camp is now publishing the mission patches from each team on a webpage:

http://www.spacecamp.com/spacecamp/patch/

I do not know if these are from the Space Camp, Academy, or Advanced Academy teams.

They show mission patches from week 26 to week 32...

Week 26: 19 - 25 March 2005
Week 32: 30 April - 06 May 2005

Thus, it is only a few weeks behind, not bad... I hope they will feature some of the summer mission patches as well.

The alumni portion of the website is 'under construction' too. Does anyone have insider information for us? ;-)

Here's the adult 8-day patch to add to the collection:

We had our patches made with someone completely different after camp was over, so it wasn't through Space Camp. We could not get the standard mission patches because of a hurricane going over Florida at the time of our camp. (The place that makes the patches for US Space Camp is in Florida...) Besides, I think our patch is more meaningful than the standard ones.

What happens to the Mission Patches after camp? Are they kept or are they thrown away? Would it be possible to have a gallery of the best mission patch designs from years past? This would be a good 25th Anniversary display...

You know what else would be good 25th Anniversary Display? The Hab1.com poster. Whatever happened to that thing?

I have it, safe and sound!

I certainly have no say about any display but, at the very least, there's a strong possibility that it'll make the trek down to Huntsville in June with me.

But who will be there to sign it?

I can send my invisible friend to sign it on my behalf! Just make sure nobody signs on top of my invisible signature.

No worries, Hotdog...it's sort of a Hab1 legacy!

This poster:

It was down at Space Camp for a few years and the tradition was such that any Hab1-ers would sign their name/board ID and a message, if they wished.

It has amassed quite a few signatures too!
