She looks good! She'll be getting a bath soon, and stairs so you can get up and see inside the cockpit.

Ribbon cutting and dedication will kick off Summerfest in July.

Here it is being reassembled and cleaned before it goes up on the display mounts. I'll get some better shots when I go visit next week. It should be up on the mounts by then.

Re: 2017

At the Alumni Festival AKA Space Camp Summerfest 2015, we got to fly simulated missions with Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger. She is a great friend of Space Camp and an awesome, down-to-earth person. She would be a perfect female astro for AASA since she is also a Space Camp Hall Of Famer. I think she s...

Re: Hidden Figures

I'll admit I had my doubts about this movie, as I do with any "realistic" space movie that comes out. But so far, all of my space buddies who have seen it have raved about it. So I will be checking it out this week.

Re: Pima Air and Space Museum

I haven't been, but I've heard it is awesome. I plan on going in June. One thing I would not miss is their sister facility, the Titan Missile Museum. It's about 30 minutes away.

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

No worries about being left out. Even if everybody goes to the "Library" after hours, I'm sure they'll let you tag along (you just might have to settle for a non-alcoholic beverage). :| Which reminds me of another difference, some of your adult team members may opt to stay/sleep in a Marri...

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

Yes, what Jennifer said. Expect the adult camp to be a different and unique experience from what you experienced previously. You will likely be the youngest person on your team. Everyone else on your team will have a high level of enthusiasm because like Jen said, they're all there on their own dime...

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

Is the 4-day not being offered during your spring break? For all the reasons P51 mentioned, you should at least go for the 4-day if its available. That extra day will make a huge difference, and it doesn't cost a whole lot more.

Re: Schollarship questions

Vince makes a good point. You really wanna stay with your age group. Age isn't really a factor in the adult camps, but for a good cohesive team of youngsters, it's a good practice. That's the reason I did Space Academy Level I twice. In the early 90s, That was the program name for grades 7-9. Level ...

Re: Adult Week Long October 2016

Grolsch is quite good! I don't drink beer anymore, but if I had to have one, that'd be one I would be willing to have. The Library serves up the best Old Fashioned I've ever had, apparently it's their house specialty. I've taken quite a liking to those so whenever I visit I make sure to get one of t...

That makes two of us who have skidded down the runway due to pilot "error"! Maybe we'll call it the Skidmarker's Club 8) Did Hoot have one of his famous "Flaming Hooker" cocktails while at The Library? (BTW, I think the official Marriott name for the bar is "The Great Room&q...

Probably not as much as I should be. I only live an hour and a half from Sprocket. I try to visit every few months. I do a lot of volunteer work for the alumni association, but most of that is done from home.

Re: Looking for old teammates

If you can give me the date of graduation from the certificate, that might help in obtaining a list of trainees from that week (if such a record has been kept). I probably can't get any personal info like phone numbers or street addresses, but maybe the names? I'll give it a shot.

Re: Looking for old teammates

Hmm, this is going to be tough. There used to be a searchable alumni database on the Space Camp site about 5-6 years ago, but it's been taken offline. There has been talk of bringing it back as part of the Space Camp Alumni site you visited (which is ran by our alumni organization which is separate ...

Most people go barefoot, but I have seen the occasional pair of "flippers" being worn while observing UAT dives.
