Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
I think you are being a little unfair to Facebook users. Can you please clarify who you think is being a little unfair to Facebook users? Since your post follows mine, I would not want people to think you mean me unless, of course, you do. ;) For the record, I believe that you need to cultivate as ...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
As opposed to having the option itself listed on the actual Space Camp website ? 8O It was listed on the USSRC site, yet the only way to see it was to start the registration process. You'd have to know what you were looking for or stumble upon it. Maybe that's what John Ramsey et. al. wanted, i.e.,...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
I guess I have to ask the question then; isn't it horrible marketing to make such an option available but only if you know the 'secret handshake'? Heck, I have my ear to the ground but I wouldn't have known at all that this was going on if I hadn't read about it here. How many more people are there...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
It would make no difference if USSRC just posted Train with an Astro without saying whom but since they did; I foresee a potential problem, i.e., what has priority, signup date/time or team? It is great that the Astro makes no difference to you but I can see people being upset if USSRC bumped them f...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, these options have on corporate camp pricing. Option 1 is, in my opinion, materially lower than what a similar corporate camp would be. Then again, I do not have the pricing data as USSRC wants to price as a whole rather than ala carte. I know that ...

Option 1 seems materially cheaper than what they charge for a similar corporate camp.

Re: Total noob...where have I been?!
We are doing a complete and long needed reno of all of the Hab I rooms! Even the RA rooms are getting a make over. The rooms won't be any bigger, but there'll be new flooring, new ceiling and paint and general sprucing up. It should be done by the end of February and boy, are we excited! What's tha...

Re: Total noob...where have I been?!
Well that's a little disappointing. I just got an email that due to renovations in Hab 1, we'll be in Hab 2 and 3 this weekend. I'm sure it will be just fine, but my initial reaction is disappointment because there's a big difference in having a small room for a few people vs a large room with who ...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
It's that some people they are consulting want significant upgrades for the lower price, which makes no sense. I heard the week-long adult programs were cancelled for just that reason: people expecting more for free and causing fuss about it. Your Canadian is showing ;) Expecting something for noth...

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
So it's not really a pilot program and more of a private group booking? My feeling is that they are trying to organize what is essentially a corporate camp to eliminate their risk. However, the price point that most people find acceptable is below the range ($1,200-$1,500) that they mentioned. Yet ...

2 week long, not 2 weeks longmajtom7 wrote:We were told today that USSRC will list 2 week long adult pilot programs in 2015. They'll need at least 12 attendees each to be a GO.
John Ramsey said it to us at Camp.

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp
John Ramsey posted on Facebook to look for dates posting around yearend 2014 for the pilot week long camps. John has made additional postings about this in the Adult Space Camp Adventure group on Facebook. He asked that they not be shared in a public forum which is why I am directing you there. :( ...

We had a similar view but without the socialization and free swag. It closed the circle for us as we saw the first two cores come in on the Mariner when we toured CCAFS.

Hard to blame them if you've seen how many shuttle shirts they still have.... What surprised me more was that the Visitors Center had nothing EFT-1...Hotdog wrote:Next week? They waited until the last minute, didn't they?

Hotdog, I was there on 11/10 so be forewarned.
BTW, Space Shirts told me that they will be offering Orion/EFT-1 shirts starting next week.

Astronaut Hall of Fame aka Space Camp Florida
I was at the Astronaut Hall of Fame recently and I was very disappointed with the condition of the place. Attractions and the gift shop were closed along with various exhibits needing repair. I know that they're going to move everything over to the Visitors Center eventually yet it was very sad to s...

USSRC finally corrected the price to $599.majtom7 wrote:There appears to be a bargain price ($499, normally the 3-day price) 4-day listed for 9/4/2015-9/7/2015. They might have to honor that one if you sign up.
