I don't have a tv in my room here at school and i honestly dont really miss it much. There are a few shows that i like to watch (mythbusters and whatnot) but i'm not having any trouble living without them. I kind of miss the news but there seems to be no shortage of the state press on campus so I gu...

Having participated in both of the programs I can honestly say that I saw little connection between the two aside from the fact that if you were pretending to be a combat pilot you could conceivably pretend to be headed for the Astronaut Corps. That doesn't mean that I didn't like both programs beca...

Have fun! I think that with all of the other new things going on in your life (college and whatnot) it will be more like opening a new chapter in your life than just ending your time at camp. At least that was how it was for me. If you plan on working there in the future just consider it a transitio...

Re: A couple questions before i sign up for next year..

I'm just concerned, I have lots of problems with my ankles/legs, and I'm wondering if there's anything i might not be able to do with that?? I can't walk at times and stuff, and i don't know what'll happen since i'm having surgery in 2 weeks on my ankles, and hoping that'll help somewhat, but i'll ...

Assuming my roomate and I have managed to obtain a tv i'll have to watch that when i get out of class... I suppose i could just watch it on my computer since thats what i usually do anyway. I'd still like to watch it in without that few second lag though...

Re: Space Documentaries

I like a few. One of My favorites is The Dream is Alive. I was gonna buy it for $24 at USSRC, but I got it on ebay for $7. MAgnificent Desolation and Roving mars are also good. I want to watch "From Earth to the Moon" but the dvd is $60-$100. From From the Earth to the Moon is well worth ...

I was browsing the internet the other day and came across a seemingly neat program. I haven't had time to download it yet but it looks very cool and most importantly free! I thought i would pass it along to everybody else. Its apparently a combination of Planetarium software and a space simulator. A...

Hey LB, Last summer on my AC girls scout team, I had a girl in a wheel chair who participated in many of the activities we do. We had to modify some things, obviously, but depending on what your disability is, we can work around it. We had one of our two wheel-chair girls crawl during E&E the l...

Yeah. I didn't get a patch and was really dissapointed the last time i went to camp. NWA broke my plane and then cancelled my flight and forgot to mention it over the loudspeaker and then blamed me when i didn't get immediately rescheduled at the gate they didn't announce it at. It ended in me not b...

I'm leaving on the 15th and all i can think about is how much there is to do before then. I recently decided to take a full 5 days off of work before i leave instead of 3 so i can get everything in order. Whew. New dorm stuff is cool though. I'm waiting till i get there to get most of mine since shi...

We watched a launch when i was in Academy in 2000. It was really neat to compare what we were learning to what the PAO was saying about the launch.

From the Earth to the moon is great hewck they even got actors who matched pretty well to who they were playing with the biggest exception being Chris Kraft who turned from a skinny guy to a rather large man due to the actor playing him. Anyone ever notice there were also 2 Pete Conrad's in the mov...

I'm a big fan of the From the Earth to the Moon series. While they took a fair amount of creative license a lot of the actual historical stuff is quite accurate.

I ALWAYS flew direct from DTW to HSV via NWAlink/Pinnacle. Though that was a really nice benifit of living in the northern areas of the U.S. You can get a direct flight from DTW to almost anywhere!
