Re: Big USSRC Announcement

I am hoping that eventually both adult and family robotics camps will be created and then eventually a cyber camp for youth, adults, and family as well. I'm excited by the news and eager to see what will be done in the future.

Re: Trading Post

I need to go through all the SC stuff I have to see what I'm willing to trade, as I have a lot of duplicate items, especially patches... Mostly, I'm looking for the following in Adult XL size: Early Avirex light blue flight suit (they might not have made them in Adult sizes) "pre-STS51L" ...

Re: 2018

My advice is, if you can afford it, do the weeklong camp. Now if only we could get an adult robotics camp or a hybrid space/robotics camp. That's what I'd really like to do. I'd love to do an adult robotics camp or even an adult version of the cyber security camp. (or some type of hybrid). Meanwhil...

Re: 2018

Ok so trying to plan things out for 2018 (and beyond) for myself. Having taken my daughter to family space camp in June/July 2017, do you recommend doing Adult Space Academy (shortened or week long) first then try doing the Adult Advanced Space Academy next? I guess what I am trying to ask is what i...

Trading Post

With Vincent's approval, I'm posting this 'Trading Post' topic on the forum here under the gift shop. What Space Camp/Academy, Aviation Challenge, or Space Camp Robotics related patches, pins, shirts, hats, or items do you have extras of and are willing to trade for something Space Camp/Academy, Avi...

Re: Online store not working...

Be patient guys, they're switching over to a new system... Good to know! Agreed! It is good to know. As an FYI, when I was at camp (beginning of July) I overheard the associate working the register tell a parent to "check the Space Camp store website and she could order it from there" whe...

Lego SLS

This was advertised on the Space Camp Alumni Twitter account. An alumni submitted the SLS as a Lego ideas set.

Re: Online store not working...

The space camp store is back up. Wow, not a lot of stuff on it. Real hard to look anything up, too. This is progress? 8O Yea I'm disappointed by the selection as well. Half the time the searching does not work right, even if you click on 'show all'. I've had moments where one time it will show 20 i...

Popular Science Magazine - The Future of Space Travel: Your New Ride to Space

Saw this Popular Science magazine in the local Wal-Mart. Publish date was March 17, 2017. (But they still had it on the racks as of July 2017.) Thought I'd share this with everyone. Popular Science The Future of Space Travel: Your New Ride to Space Paperback – March 17, 2017 https://www.amazon.com/P...

Re: Space Camp 35th Anniversary Retrospective Video - What Would You Like to See?

Generally speaking from my experience, it would be a cool thing to do. I'd be interested in participating. From my perspective, it would be my experience of going with my HS class in 1996. Now if this was considered Pathfinder or Astrotek, I've yet to ever get clarity of what exactly it was consider...

Re: Jon McBride's Training Flight Suit

Market value is the price that a buyer is willing to pay and a seller is willing to accept. In any normal auction, there is a minimum price listed. None have been listed for this suit for any of the countless auctions in which it has been listed. I've 'won' it more than once, only to have the listi...

I've not had the 'winning bid' but I've bid as well in the various auctions.

Re: 2018

I called Space Camp and inquired about a week long adult program for 2018. I was told the 2018 schedule has not come out yet, but should be ready within a month or so. At that point we should know if there will be one.

Re: 2018

That's a good question since I was hoping to do an Adult Camp in 2018! I'd rather do the week long one honestly.

Speaking of which, what is the difference between the week long vs shorter ones?

I tried using Google and any links referring to the store are showing HTTP 404 errors. The only thing showing for the store (for me) is admission tickets.

Re: Looking for old teammates

Sounds like the database may have limitations due to privacy concerns so tracking down old teammates may be a little easier with the upcoming database / search feature down the pipe, however with this in mind, it may offer limited options to send messages or find that long lost teammate based upon s...

Re: 1996 Groups vs Now?

I truly doubt that. I have a feeling there's no master list of anyone who's gone through that goes back more than a few years, if even then. I'm constantly amazed at how much info you'd think SC would have, but they don't. So many jobs get passed down to the new person, they move on and it all goes...
