I lived (and worked) in Atlanta the summer of '96. I worked my regular job during the day and was a VIP driver from 5 PM to midnight everyday beginning a week before the games started till a week after. It was the most fun I've had in a long time! I got to meet (and party) with the Australian Olympi...

Notice the Space Camp Barbies in the last photo! Wonder how the photographer managed to snap the first shot since you cannot view the training center floor anymore. Grrrrr. The first photo is taken from the viewing platform between the HR Satellite offices and the UAT deck. I took a lot of folks at...

I recommend a small backpack, as opposed to a waist pack (don't call it a 'fanny' pack around a Brit or Australian unless you want either major blushing or snickering). As others have pointed out, the waist pack is really too small to carry the things you want to carry. The counselors are issued the...

I am and always have considered myself to be very religious. I am of the Southern Baptist faith. Before you throw rocks, there are many variations of the SBC. Each congregation is independent and allowed to make their own decisions about the way that individual church is run. I have always attended ...

I can assure you, if someone wants to steal something, there is time to do it. It is essential that valuables be locked up. Anything left in the bathrooms during the day will be tossed by the custodians. I'll also add that an astounding amount of stuff is brought to lost and found daily and never cl...

I'll ditto the suggestion of locking valuables in the locker and stowing your clothes in your suitcase under your bunk or under the desk. And do lock up those valuables! Wallets and expensive games/cameras/phones have a tendency to grow legs and walk if they are left laying on your bunk. Stashing th...

Which exhibits were moved to the Davidson Center? Are the lunar rover and lunar lander (from the museum) in there now too? The Apollo wall? I've not been in since week before last, but at that time the showcases for each Apollo flight had been moved over. The plan is to eventually have the entire A...

The sign is on a easel up stairs, right as you enter the main room. It's easy to overlook! I do know it was there the night of the Gala. As everyone else has said, the rocket looks spectacular. I've walked it's length countless times telling trainees about it, but in this building it looks HUGE!!! I...

The question concerning the country that orbited the first satellite...it should be the USSR rather than 'Russia'. At that point Russia was part of the USSR. That would be like saying Florida, rather than the US, launched John Glenn.

Tater Tots are just grated potatoes shaped and fried. The cafe only uses vegetable oils (no peanut, even) to fry. They're as okay as fried food can be.

I like the corn nuggets! (up north you might be more familiar with the term 'corn fritters') I also adore Mexican Wednesday, but then I just take a small bowl of the meat and make a taco salad with the stuff on the salad bar.
