I'm going to throw this out here. Remember, rules exist because at some point someone has broken it! :?

Not only do the security guards not let you back on campus if you are intoxicated, they will also not let you back on carrying alcohol. Yes, we had problems with this in the very near past. 8O

Do they even give out wings anymore? I found a set at an antique show recently, it had a red shield in the center with “US Space Camp” written on it. I assume these are the wings people are talking about, but do they still give them out and if so, do they still have this design? Yes, we still give ...

By the way, the set pieces used for the Hab room in the film have been repurposed. They are now part of the registration area in Hab I. It looks spiffy!

For what week are you signed up? In September we have two weekends with no other people except the Adult Academy. The other groups attending are a mix of adults and children. Their activities will end before the adult activities do, so they'll be in bed and quiet before you come in for the evening. ...

They either do a great job of hiding it, assume you have no questions, or I’m over thinking everything (either of which is likely, I guess). If you go to www.spacecamp.com and go to 'resources', you'll see an option for Trainee Guides. I'm not sure what questions you have, but probably most of them...

Here's a photo of the interior of a Hab I room (7 beds) that's in the program guide. It doesn't show the entire room, but it gives you an idea. Scroll down to the lower half of the page. It shows three girls standing in the middle of the room with their backs to the door (out of sight). The photogra...

Filming won't be starting in March, due to some work still needed on the script, I'm told. It is in the works though!

Boomerang covered a lot of things already (thanks Jason!), but I want to expound on a few. I recommend around $20 in singles for vending machine privileges. Most crew trainers (counselors) will reward their team with a trip to the machines for a job well done or good team work. There is some mystic ...

I'm guessing it would have been difficult to get all of the required equipment, get the lighting right and have room for the cameras and the actors in those small rooms. Most movie and tv sets have walls that move (if they even have more than two walls) and no ceiling in order to accomodate all of ...

Those quarters were pretty spiffy, weren't they? I hope parents don't expect their childrens hab rooms to look like those! That set was actually built in the bottom of Hab I.

I'll be working the Huntsville premiere Friday night. I've already viewed the film (to be prepared for parents calling in with questions) and must say we look pretty in it! The production company worked hard making the props and setting look 1980ish, but one scene does prominently feature the exteri...

Just spoke with Snapper, the corporate camp coordinator. She's the one to go through if you want to book a 'group' camp. She's crazy busy right now booking and scheduling events for 2012, so give her a call later in the year to discuss your plans. I'll message you her number, SpaceCanada.

Is your orbiter the 1:72 scale version? If you are a stickler for detail like me, you will want the correct decals and main engine nozzles. Space geek that I am (and I know you can relate to that!), when my husband and I went to the national IMPS show in Ohio year before last I saw several of the L...

Oh yeah, Boomerang, I remember that night well! Sad to say it was not a singular case. It happens almost every year. I'm still amused by the story Paul tells of the kid that showed up with no luggage for an overnight program. Parent had no idea the kid was going on a field trip, even after signing t...

Yup, exactly like a hospital bracelet (we get them from a hospital bracelet manufacturer). I do get them color coded for the program. Red=Camp, Blue=Academy, Green=AA and Yellow for AC (I know, but that's the way RedBull wants it). 8)

I'll also add that inundating your child with mail (and trust me, I see this!) can sometimes backfire! If your child is the least bit homesick, a ton of mail exacerbates the situation; especially the 'we miss you so much' variety! If a teammate of your child sees your child getting 3 and 4 letters a...
