I can confirm that the foam block with grippers has been there since (at least) 1998. I remember it being there both of my times at camp. I also remember when we had a similar exhibit at the science centre here describing how doctors use surgical tools like this to perform laproscopic (spelling?) op...

I was shocked to find no camps on the website for that week. When my friend rang the registrations office the registrar said the youth ASA was cancelled for that particular week. I highly doubt that particular week is booked solid (for every programme) more than the week prior or the week afterwards...

Just out of curiousity, when are all the special sessions? I hear Week 36 and Week 41, but what are the actual dates? I ask because I know there are no *normal* ASA sessions while I will be there, but could there be a special session, I don't know...

Thank you all. I am nearly certain the clear shuttle stack has been there since my first trip as well. I do not remember seeing it, but I am remembering less and less of what was in the museum back then. (Oh dear, I'm getting old!) I am very excited that I let my friend talk me into booking the earl...

I have been fortunate these past 4 years. We used to have "peasant vision" which gave us 3 channels in English and 1 in French. (FYI: "Farmer vision" is just two channels - CBC English and CBC French.) Four years ago my parents got a great deal on a digital satellite dish and we ...

I cannot believe that I (or anyone else) forgot to write this yesterday:

On to current events... (or tomorrow's history)

MNathaniel: I have definitely used that picnic area between Pathfinder and KidsCosmos. My first year at camp we were allowed to take our cafeteria food out there and eat, such that we brought all our dishes and trays back inside. I will check out that photo idea as you suggested when I arrive, both ...

Update: the week has not been cancelled, the lady my friend talked to was referring to the youth programme for the week, not the adult programme. Thank goodness we got that settled out.

Vincent: Looks like we will not be using your photos. Sorry mate :-( We found a great poster in storage that we will be using instead. Thanks for all your efforts though, I really appreciate it! On a completely different note, photography in itself. Does anyone know of some really spectacular photos...

My parents also have the same digital camera as Richasi and Who. It is a great camera, and I have found that you do not need more than 3 MegaPixels if you just want 4x6 prints. If you want 5x7, go with 4 MPx, and 8x10 go with 5 Mpx for high quality printing. People say more pixels the better, but re...

1-800-63-SPACE

Good Day All: I recall having this problem in the past, it was later resolved, and now it has risen again. The 1-800-63-SPACE telephone number does not work from Canada. It didn't in 1998, then it did in 1999 and 2000, but once again it does not work. Online registration does not work for Canadian r...

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!! If all goes as planned (and my work approves the time off) I will be attending the Adult Advanced Academy programme with a friend of mine from Edmonton on 29 August to 03 September 2004. By the looks of it, the Adult ASA programme is the only one running that week! The camp cou...

Thank you Vincent for the lovely photos. I will show them to the programme coordinator and we'll see which ones, if any, we will use. I have a few NASA archive photos to work wth as well. If we do use yours, however, I will PM you with more details.

Does anyone have a very clear, very high resolution image of the (Pathfinder) shuttle stack? Either a NASA link or a personal photo from camp would be fine. I ask because I am planning a Space Day event for about 100 girls. We want to have a photo printed poster-size of a shuttle stack where you can...

USSRC Museum Changes

Good Day All: I was looking through some of Richasi's photos from September 2003 this morning. I noticed a few things in the museum area I do not recall seeing before. I have looked at so many photos over the past 6 years that I can barely remember what the place looked like when I was there in 1998...
