Thats sick. So you DO get call signs. I'm a bit confused by your usage of the word "sick." But yes, at Aviation Challenge (or Aviation track Academy), you do get call signs. However, your team chooses your call sign, NOT you. And there's a list of call signs you can't get (any counselor f...

it depends on the week and the program, but GENERALLY, you are given a medal - there don't seem to be scarves during the summer, and I've never worked spring AC.

please put the name you go by with your family, friends and school people. DON'T put a nickname like "Hawk" or "Shorty" especially if you're going to AC, because we'll give you a new callsign anyway, and we need to know what name to announce for graduation as your first name.

I second that - if Sprocket's in it, I wanna see it. Even if it sucks.

Sometimes I wonder if up top had their way, they'd do away with AC all-together... Or bring it more fully under space camp's direct supervision and eliminate a lot of the things that make AC cool.

tennisrox - I wasn't trying to imply there was. I just think it would be wicked cool if we split up Mach III into tracks - a military track and a sim track or something, so that kids more interested in the military aspect could have that as well as the pilot stuff.

I love the military aspects too, unfortunately, some kids just wanna go for the fighter pilot sims, and their mommy and daddy called and complained, and so now it's been cut from the actual program, though some counselors (depending on the teams) manage to sneak it in anyway.

one of my campers last summer wrote a cadence for our team that I got permission to use with my teams later on... The other problem is the big wigs up top don't like the military aspects of it, so we're not allowed to sound off or do anything like that up top because it might scare away the museum c...

I taught my 12-day team D&C this past summer because they were interested and wanted to learn - they had a lot of fun, and it killed time better than any other kind of team time activitiy. As far as PT goes, I was there in 99, and we did it, and 2000 and we did it, and I don't remember it after ...

I told my campers about this site, and I think like one of them signed up for it...

There are so many other things they could be doing (like myspace, gasp), that I suppose the interest isn't there like it used to be.

*shrugs* who knows?

I remember PT in the mornings, having my bunk thrown over by my (male) counselor, and the D&C competition. I LOVED D&C, and AC is the primary reason I got into it. I was really upset when they got rid of it. Unfortunately, most of my memories of AC (1999-2001) are overcome by my more recent ...

I think Spanky and Sandrat really livened up the Barracks board, and that's what started getting me back on the site.

I'm a bit partial to United Airlines, as the time I flew to home to NYC from Dallas, they were awesome. Although we were delayed horribly, it was due to weather, and they kept us comfortable while we waited, and helped me make my connection, even though I recieved a voicemail telling me I'd been res...

Aviation Challenge's centrifuge was featured in the Amazing Race's visit to Sprocket - whereas Space Camp was barely seen.

If you stay for week-long AC, there's a bunch. I haven't really dealt with the other programs enough to know about what else there is, however, I'm sure you could contact Sprocket and find out.

I like NYC weather just fine - born and raised here, and nothing feels better. Can't stand the state bird down in 'bama anyway - stupid mosquitos the size of baseballs - what's up with that business?

c'mon now - you can't tell us something exists and then not tell us how we can enjoy your torment...

If stumps had to deal with the amazing race episode being played in the cafeteria while working, then y'all can suffer through giving some alumni humerous materials.
