Re: Team photos; what do you do with them?

I have two of them in shadow boxes. The year that my nephew and I won the Outstanding Astronaut Trainee award and the year the my friend Pat and I won top gun at aviation challenge. I included my diplomas and awards in the shadow boxes. I also have the first year that I went framed and on the wall. ...

I thought about telling them that I had flunked my senior year 30 times, but I didn't think they would buy it! :)

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

That said, next year is my 15th wedding anniversary and my wife and I have plans for a trip we've been planning for a while. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to do SC next year for that reason and the fact it's almost impossible to take any time off where I work. I'm not ruling anything out and am pl...

So, who's ready for 2015?

Being a librarian, I thought I should start a new thread for next year's registration, since it is being discussed in the 2014 thread. So, Street, is there any plan for a 6-day or longer Adult program? I am sure that a lot of us alumni would be interested.

Re: New SC logo items?

The Flight suit that I got last month still had the old logo on it. There were still keychains and pins with the old logo as well as with the new logo. I didn't notice the patches, but I took photos of the merchandise for those interested and they should be in the Shutterfly group that I linked in m...

Re: Orion Lunar Mission

One of my Challenger teammates just sent his photo of our patch. They only gave us one print and we gave it to a teammate who is going to get the patches made up. [img]https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=816780688352386&l=bca0b696b9/img] It has the moon, to represent our mission to the moon....

Re: Orion Lunar Mission

There were random time warps, but we did crawl into the lander and power it up and then crawled back into the command module to wait to separate and land. There were some software glitches, but they haven't used this simulation much yet. I don't know if we were the first, but we were among the first...

Re: Flightsuit sizes?

I took out my tape measure and measured my new XL flightsuit this morning. Hips are 48 inches and Chest is 53 inches. Waist is about the same as hips but has adjustable Velcro to make it smaller.

Re: Hall Of Fame/Alumni Weekend 2014

And neither one of you stopped to say hello to me at the 'registration' table! Sorry, Street. Don't know you by sight. I wanted to go to the registration table to make sure that my dietary restrictions had been noted. (They weren't!) My Crew Trainer said that if I had included them in my registrati...

Re: Hall Of Fame/Alumni Weekend 2014

Yeah, the food there is pretty good (better than the cafeteria where I work and you have to pay through the nose for that), beats me why people still talk smack about SC chow... I didn't have as much problem with the food as with the way they are now serving it. Right onto the try like you see in p...

Re: Hall Of Fame/Alumni Weekend 2014

They split us between tables 19 and 23. It was very cool because 23, which I was at, was right next to the Tuskegee Airmen. Sam, our Crew Trainer, split his time between both tables since we had a few empty chairs and got 2 dinners! Much better food than the cafeteria rotation.

Re: Flightsuit sizes?

I am female, about 175 lbs and 5 foot 7. I have been wearing a large flight suit for the last few camps and it still fits, but is the old light blue. I decided last week to get a new darker blue suit and decided to go with the XL. I wear my suit often over other clothes and I like the extra room. I ...

Re: 4-Day Adult Camp Photos

It was a bit. At Graduation, they said that since there wasn't any competition, they just gave us 3 of the usual team awards. The 2 patches and the Orion pin. And Dmitri, from Kiev, got the Right Stuff award. We didn't even really bother with Space Bowl. No point. But it was good to do the patch, ev...

Re: Orion Lunar Mission

There were 13 people on Team Challenger and a great Crew Trainer Sam Tanenbaum. It was one of those special teams that bonded well with each other and with our Crew Trainer. Sam is the best. We all agreed to keep in touch and are sharing all of our photos. We were the only adult team there, so we wo...

Orion Lunar Mission

Photos will be coming, but for now I thought you would want to hear about the Orion Lunar mission from the 4-day adult camp. The sims are all very new and so is the SOCR which is what they call the lunar mission control. There are 8 mission specialists and a pilot and commander as well as the SOCR c...

It was great seeing you get the well-deserved awards, Hotdog. I was at the banquet, but they had us at reserved tables for our Adult team Challenger. More about the adult camp in another thread.

Re: Total noob...where have I been?!

Jenn, I am going back this August for my 13th trip as an adult. I never attended as a child. Although I am not in the retirement age group mentioned earlier, I am closing in on it! :D I had a man on one of my teams who was over 70. P51 is quite accurate when he says that nothing matches the feeling ...

Re: The Lost Mission Patch

We didn't do a patch the first time I went to Space Camp. The adult 3-day program in 1988. But I designed one for my two friends and I when we came back and hand embroidered 3 of them. Not nearly as nice as yours and the only copy I have is the one that I made and kept. Every camp since then that I ...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

For those of you who are interested, I just got an email with the tentative schedule for the August 8 Adult 4-day camp. It looks pretty interesting. The first day Has registration, a movie (Magnificent Desolation) mission overview and mission positions. Team Photo and then the Hall of Fame Dinner. S...
