MMU
The first time I went to the Adult Space Camp, in 1988, the MMU was used for the EVA building the tetrahedron. One MS used it and was in control of its movements with a counselor on an override in case they got carried away. :D I was an MS and got a chance to try it and pushed it as high as I could ...

Duggars visit Space Camp
Looks like next week's episode of "Nineteen Kids and Counting" takes place at Space Camp: http://www.al.com/entertainment/index.s ... _visi.html

Cold Rooms
I'll second the cold rooms at night. I bought the Space Camp sweatsuit and used it for pajamas. A couple of times, I have even brought a quilt with me to add to the bedding. It can get very cold when the air conditioning is running.

Hab Rooms
They usually don't put a full complement of adults in a room for adult camps. Every time I went there were only 3 or 4 to a room. One thing that I brought my last two times was a white noise generator and it was a real help. The snoring isn't as bad as the door-slamming which in the open hallways of...

Space Race Blastoff on Facebook
Has anyone else tried the Space Race Blastoff quiz game that NASA has put on Facebook? I have been having fun with it.

2013 Adult week
I might be interested, depending on the timing. I couldn't do 2012 either, but 2013 would probably work.

Food
I have been there many times. I agree that breakfast is the best meal of the day there, but even at the other meals, there are always fresh fruits and salads and bread and butter so there is usually something healthy to eat if the cooked foods don't look appetizing.

Home at Space Camp
I have to agree completely. I only attended Space Camp as an Adult for 8 days, but even after my first 3-day camp, it felt like home. When I returned for the 8-Day camp my friends were surprised when I just walked into the training center floor like it was my living room. After we all finished the c...

Happy Top Gun Day
Happy Top Gun Day to all of my fellow AC graduates, especially WAGS who was my pilot when I won the Top Gun Award as RIO. That was a memorable event for me. Today is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the move Top Gun. What was your favorite moment at AC? I have many besides the Top Gun award. (One...

Adult Programs hard to find
I called Space Camp today to see if they might be planning an alumni weekend. They said they had no such plans. I asked if they might have a 6-day Adult Aviation Challenge and they said there is only ONE 3-day Adult Aviation Challenge planned. I checked the website and this is all they show. They al...

Space Camp Florida
I attended a Parent/Child camp in Florida once. The hab wasn't nearly as nice as the one in Alabama. Dormitory rooms were very large, 24 people to a room and no study area. Women together in one and men in another and no accomodation for opposite sex parents and children. My nephew had to sleep in w...

Adult ASA
Ignore below. I read your request wrong and thought you were asking about AC. I also attended Adult ASA. It is more intense and interesting than the 3 day program. You get to scuba dive and the missions are longer. It is very similar to the Advanced Space Academy for high-schoolers.

Adult AC
I have been to Adult Aviation Challenge a couple of times and I loved it. Unlike Space Camp, you spend a lot of time out of doors. You do survival training both on land and in the water. Indoors there are great flight simulators where you do attack missions and dogfights. To win Top Gun, you have to...

Alumni relations
I agree with this completely. As a 12 time camper, and one who attended the Alumni Reunion in 2007, I am disappointed in the information sent to alumni and the lack of opportunities for alumni to participate. As well, I was an Enterprise level member of Space Camp for many years, sending a large don...
