Re: bad counselors

hehehe i just realized we can change the color of the font Yeah...maybe I should disable that! Seriously though...I did once, many years ago, have a counselor that, while not horrible, qualifies as the worst one I've had at camp (someone had to, I guess)...in fact, she was the only counselor...

I dunno...the Huntsville one's been going pretty strong since it opened in 1990. As far as I know, it's not in any danger of being cancelled.

...though I don't know for sure, I'd be willing to bet anything that enrollment in the Space Camp programs is much higher than AC...

You can now get them in the gift shop for 25 bucks...

While this might have been true (I don't know for sure), there currently isn't a California AC, so the point of whether they do or don't have these differences is currently moot at the moment... ...but if you've got $3 million lying around somewhere...well, I heard California needs $2 million to ope...

Re: The Aviation Challenge 'Manual' (the book they give you)

This is complete contrast to Space Camp, where everybody got a book filled with space information, and the books were different for each level. But the books in the SC programs have gotten thinner and thinner over the years...they used to provide 3-ring binders with information in them...then they ...

They do enforce the rules about the floors. During the eggdrop, my teams' performed great when it was dropped from the 3rd, so we wanted it to drop from the forth to see how it would do...I had dropped it from the third and was all ready to go up the the forth to drop it, but I wasn't even allowed t...

If you Don't get your Activation Email...PLEASE READ THIS

There have been a few problems with new members not receiving their account activation email when they register for the HabForum. While, at the moment, the only theory I have as to the cause of this is possible spam controls falsely filtering out automated messages form the HabForum, I can't yet be ...

After doing some testing, I see now that you're right...the AIM icon seems not to work right with AOL, but only AIM! ...but you can still see the screen name in AOL. Just look at the status bar of your browser when in AOL on the HabForum. When you move your mouse over someone's AIM icon, you'll see ...

I'll look into it on this side. But just a few things to consider... are you using AOL's software? I think it won't work quite right if you're not (i.e. If you're a Trillian user, this could be the problem. I use Gaim and it doesn't work, either) For a short term fix, you can see the screen name of ...

It'd be well worth the cost of putting me on Mars or back on the Moon. The problem is the pay-off wouldn't be immediate.

Thus, in a society of instant-gratification, no one's going to go for it, at least not at the moment.

A good point about the moon...there's a great many number of things we could do with the moon, scientifically. We never should have stopped going. We should've just been running missions back and forth all of these years, working towards a lunar outpost. But instead we just stopped going. How dumb a...

Perhaps, but I seem to recall back in the 80's sometime, George Bush (the first one) made a directive to get humans to Mars by 2010 (I think that's the date he set...it was so long ago!) or something...we're certainly not going to hit that because, while I think everyone wants to go to Mars, no one ...

Space Camp is (or at least was) offering 10% off and were waiving the "stay a day late/arrive a day early" fees for the weekend if you attend two camps back-to-back.
