http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/16/news/companies/nasa-boeing-space-x/?hpt=hp_t2 NASA will make a "major announcement" later Tuesday about its plans to partner with the private sector to transport astronauts to the international space station. The space agency said it will hold a news confere...

Eating Skittles? Is that what you kids call it? ;)

You'll have to let us know if the Rocket Garden @ KSC has the same effect on Goose ;)

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

I had stellar (interstellar?) references.... Radlady, Rockhound, and Jackie.... Two out of the three had seen me outside of USSRC. Hard to get much better than that :) Yet at the same time, as Repro said in an email, it's a matter of fit. Just because you can ante up into the game does not mean that...

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

Yeah, I could be counted in the motivate buyer segment, but I know what the corporate programs cost. If I ever get invited to take part, that's going to be a very hard sell to my wife to pay that much, to an individual who I'd have to lawyer up against if things went bad. That price could easily go...

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

I was a counselor for such a team the last year it occurred (I remember distinctly being blown off my feet under Pathfinder, as Katrina roared through Huntsville, walking my team from the UAT to the Hab). 2005... Unfortunately it was cut for the very reason companies cut programs any time. It wasn'...

Again, not offered to adults. :(
Maybe I should have read that since deleted email a little slower... :?
although, since they take 18 year olds, they are accepting legal adults.

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

I agree fully with this, the center really doesn't make it easy at all. If they offered a way for a split in the total cost across a fixed number of members and allowed them to pay the center directly, depositing that money so the people going feel solid about where the money has gone, I think they...

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

As always, if you want to organize a 'corporate' group and customize your experience, you're welcome to do so! Easier said that done... Someone has to front the cost for everyone, say $25,000 with no refunds if people drop out. That is a lot of trust to place in your 15 new "friends&...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

ASSEC is overdue for a quarterly meeting. They should get that information, i.e., assuming that USSRC is run like a business...which IMHO, it is not. I feel a little better knowing that Homer Hickam and Joe Newberry are on the board. Homer is a former NASA engineer turned author while Joe is the hea...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Adult Programs Holding is still there, whatever that means. There appears to be a bargain price ($499, normally the 3-day price) 4-day listed for 9/4/2015-9/7/2015. They might have to honor that one if you sign up. Adult Programs Holding has disappeared. Listed now are once a month camps for Jan - ...

Re: Orion Lunar Mission

There were random time warps, but we did crawl into the lander and power it up and then crawled back into the command module to wait to separate and land. There were some software glitches, but they haven't used this simulation much yet. I don't know if we were the first, but we were among the firs...

So did the mission still have the two minutes in real time, 4 people tunnel crawl from capsule to lander, power up lander, then tunnel crawl back?

Re: Orion Lunar Mission

When did you check? At least two weeks out from a camp it is 'closed' and shows as full. I check daily during the week. Thank you for that bit of information. So that's why the camp showed as full on 7/25. If they were planning for only 16 and one team, then it would also make sense that the websit...

Re: Hall Of Fame/Alumni Weekend 2014

The website just got a rebuild, so it may be a bit before some of the more obscure elements are worked back in. For now, we have this page on the main Space Camp site: http://www.spacecamp.com/alumniadvancementboard And, of course, the official Alumni website: http://spacecampalumni.com/ Wasn't the...

Delta charges $395 for 45 minutes in their 737 sim for 1-4 people.

I've not been to this museum yet.
