I just made a good digital version of the mission patch, thought you'd like to see it:
The lone star stands for our trainer, who guided us the way, and who we all loved working with!

Same here. 3 days is really just 2 and a few hours when you add it all up. I'd love to have another day on the sims...Hotdog wrote:A 4-day program sounds more realistic (and affordable) than the 6-day that was originally proposed. I'd be interested.

Re: The Other Pathfinder
I'd known of this for many years, as I knew someone who taught English in Japan and had gone to see it. She said it was quite amazing. I can't imagine how many copies of the shuttle there were ever made. Heck, I'd read that that all the shuttle trainers at Houston were gone, but that's BS. I saw a c...

Re: Adult Week 2013?
What about an "Aerospace Track" and an "Engineering Track" like we had in Level II/ASA? Then those who want to go to AC can go fly the jet sims, and those who wanna do scuba and Area 51 can go do that. That would be more in mind for what I would like. Frankly, I was never happie...

Re: My first SC experience, September, 2012...
Right back at ya, Steve! I thought it'd be good to make contact with someone who I'd be at camp with and that paid off in spades. I think some folks at camp thought we were longtime pals or something, I had to explain how we knew each other a few times at first. And that patch? AWESOME. Thanks! I th...

Re: My first SC experience, September, 2012...
Did you have any crazy anomalies during your missions? Anyone get sick or go crazy and have to be duct-taped to the airlock? Our trainer (a really first-rate woman named Lydia who our team loved) said they often hit teams with stuff like that if they're being overconfident or not getting along. We ...

My first SC experience, September, 2012...
I'm still reeling over the experience of space camp. I started off in Atlanta and drove to Chattanooga for other reasons before leaving for Huntsville. After looking at other museums in the area, I found myself at the Marshall Space Center visitor center gift shop an hour before it closed. I was ama...

Re: Adult Week 2013?
Yeah, that'd be tough to sell to the wife for sure.
I did talk with some people there when I was just there and they said they could pretty much tailor any program a group wanted.

So I called this morning to book so I could use the discount and I was told something different. They said the $200 is for 2012 alumni who went to a weeklong camp this year and are signing up for a weeklong camp next year. The $100 discount is for alumni of any year to sign up for a weeklong camp n...

I too would probably do better with a late September to October timeframe if going for a week-long camp at all. I’m not saying I can commit to it right now, but if I can commit at all for any timeframe, around then would be best for me. It’d be much easier to get time off from work and it doesn’t co...

A patch design may or may not be part of the curriculum for adult 3-day sessions. I know it is part of the 3-day parent/child camps, as I helped one group design an Orion-based patch while hanging out in Otter's one night. I think it is a great Space Camp tradition that should be included in all of...

Hopefully you and your team will come up with your own patch design while you're at camp. I'll bring it up but seeing that it'll be a 3-day adult camp, I'm not sure how much interest there'll be. I know a guy who does great work and is seriously into space patches (the guy made me a MACH 25 patch t...

Patches designed by campers after the fact?
I was wondering why there doesn't appear to be a place for people who designed their own camp mission patches afterward? I'd bet there is a lot of good stuff out there if you know where to find it. A simple internet searched turned up a few: http://chlorinated.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/space-camp-...
