And for those who are really curious, this what I look like...well, at least when my hair was shorter. I'm in the blue flight suit and my team member Marie is in orange. Sorry the pic is so big, but I don't know how to resize it! And if you all feel young, then I feel OLD at 32...I can feel the wrin...

I remember, a couple of years back, that when you went to the Space Camp website, there were write-ups by recent campers about how they felt their missions had gone. I assume these were real, and if they were, that would be an essay of sorts. There was also an area where people could leave/read feed...
I can't speak for Station, as I wasn't assigned there, but between Orbiter and MOCR, I liked the orbiter better (either that, or I was just better at it)! In MOCR, my group would skip ahead to where they should have been when they got behind, and I got so confused as to where we were in the script t...

Though I agree that the risk of spaceflight is acceptable, I believe that the robotic Hubble Servicing Mission shouldn't be discarded as merely a way to avoid putting astronauts in danger. This mission, along with the DART and Orbital Express missions, will be testing the limits of our robotics exp...

Space Camp featured on news
Hey all! A woman I work with was telling me they had a program on the TV news recently about interesting things to do...not sure if the program focused on kids or people of all ages, but Space Camp was featured! The lady's grandson saw it and said to her, "Is there really a place where you can ...

Waaahhh, we didn't even get a survey at adult 3-day last fall! I would definitely go for realistic; there's enough futuristic space activities out there if one is so inclined. I like Lisa's idea to have camp have some activities based on the future goals of the real space program, though. Soun...

Museum and Space Camp contest
Hey all! I found out today that the science museum here in Syracuse is running a contest to win a trip to Space Camp (with airfare) for two children or adults! To enter, you have to sign up for their mailing list. Of course, I signed up right away! I hope I win, and can go back to Space Camp! They'r...

On a related note, I was glad to hear today that the U.S. Academy of Sciences recommended to NASA that Hubble be serviced by the Shuttle instead of robotically, saying that NASA and the nation are aware of and accept the risks inherent in any spaceflight, whether to the ISS or not. Yaaaay for recogn...

In addition to good counselors (we had Phil and he was cool), there are also some great USSRC employees/volunteers. A couple of my teammates and I got in early on Friday and were looking around the museum, and we were checking out the LM. I was looking close at one of the moon suits, trying to see w...

I went on Mission:SPACE in April and liked it, but after Space Academy in Sept., everything else seems anticlimactic. I did expect Mission:SPACE to be more challenging; while it was fun, I've been on roller coasters (and the centrifuge at AC) that I thought pushed me more. In fact, I thought the Tes...
