Re: Towels?

I follow the parent information in the program guide. It says on page 15 that towels and washcloths are not provided.

I believe that the intent is that it's a team building activity. (Maybe some of the current or former counselors can chime in on that.) However, I have seen folks arrive with drafts.

Re: First Timer at Adult Space Academy in September

LOL I agree with you. Once I am there, I just go. Yet given the cost, I feel that it is reasonable to provide a list of major activites. My favorite example is a cruise. When I book a cruise, I know where I have to be when at the start (registration), where and when it is going to end (graduation), ...

Yes, I have, multiple times.
p51 wrote:I understand fully why they don't give a detailed schedule out well in advance.
So do I yet that is not what I said. List of major activities, i.e. mission information, what everything else is planned around.

Re: First Timer at Adult Space Academy in September

This was posted on Facebook: Rebecca Hitt Jonathan, it would be very difficult to send the schedule to the trainees since scheduling is a delicate balance. Like the staff said, that's the ideal schedule but it is possible it could change. If Logistics winds up having to change the schedule and every...

Re: First Timer at Adult Space Academy in September

You normally get one once you sign in. I asked the USSRC repeatedly for a list of major activities for a 4-day last year because I was thinking of cancelling. I never got one, supposedly because USSRC puts the schedules together 2 weeks prior. However, USSRC did send out the tentative Advanced Space...

So do you launch, come back in 9 months to explore Mars, then come back in 9 months to return to Earth? ;)

Hey Braids,

Did you note this comment?

"Advanced Space Academy will start running Mars missions with the Orion sim beginning next week."

Maybe we should offer our services as testers. ;)

Re: Weeklong Adult Space Camp

Someone on Facebook posted the schedule for the Adult Advanced Space Academy. As someone who has long asked for a schedule of major activities ahead of time, I feel that it's great that maybe someone finally listened. It also possibly confirms what I've been saying, i.e., there must be a planning sc...

Looks like there are still some open spots for this although for some reason, they are listed under FY2016... Weekend camps for 2016 are also up on the website.

Re: Family Camp Review

My son and I went once. In fairness, I will not say that it was a bad experience but it could have been better. He was at the high end of the age range while the camp was geared to the low end of the age range.

Thank you for the update. I am not surprised that you've been painted with the broad brush of you must be against us if you're questioning or suggesting something different. It is a common occurrence when you're heading for the same destination yet feel that a different path might be better. I am su...

Re: Board Meeting Notes 4/15/2015

I haven't looked back recently but I seem to remember that two CFOs ago they actually did have it listed as a major line item. It more than likely has a specific line item buried deep in one of the expense categories. I will say this the new CFO they have is pretty [darn] awesome. He had great char...

Re: Board Meeting Notes 4/15/2015

Thank you for the update. What do you mean by airport service? Buses from those airports? I am not surprised that they had to ask for AC/Space Camp cost figures. Day to day management should be having the accounting staff doing that already. IMHO, they should have specific costs for every activity. ...

Out of curiosity, I looked this morning and both options are there when you check availability.
