Re: Patches for the different programs?

I dn't know if the lack of patches and other camp items in the gift shop is because they no longer cary them or if its the time of the year. The summer i worked there i left in mid august to return to school. By the time i left the gift shop was looking a little bare in areas they were either out co...

Re: OMG!

I think the duct tape thing has become widespread here beacause for so many people posting here their last experience was Advanced academy or its ealier equivelant or an adult program where anomolies like that are used. Otherwise your right anomolies are much simpler for other programs and its reall...

Ok from a seasoned tropical storm vet. alot will depend on how the storm makes landfall. I don't know what current predictions say. If its a tropical storm even hitting over the alabama mississippi coast you will likely get heavy rain, maybe some strong winds think on the level of a severe thunder s...

Ok that i can give you some idea of what they do. Thee water activities are centered around water survival training what to do if you eject and end up in the water. The ones i remember are life raft drills essentially geeting into the raft paddling etc, the helo dunker which simulates a water landin...

If he is bringing his own blanket it combined with one from camp or it by itself. As for the rain poncho it couldnt hurt. If its raining then he will be inside typically. However the space camp and Aviation Challenge campuses both have multiple building that are used by campers throughout the week a...

Before you take Hotdog's info too seriously which age group are you in? There is a big diffrence between the Aviation track for Space Camp and Academy and the Pilot track of advanced academy. What hotdog says only applises to the advanced academy high school level program. The other two it has more ...

I would not reccomend a pocket knife. It may have been ok in hotdog's days at camp not sure it even was then but if a counselor sees a non adult camper with one it will likely be taken away and could cause other problems. I had one camper on a team i had as a counselor brought a couple of knives pur...

One thing about Space Camp's flight suit sizing: they come in small, medium, large, etc. This seems okay in theory however there are no short, tall sizes or anything like that. So if you go from a small to a medium the size increases as well as the length. Every time the size goes up so does the len...

Well pictures are still to come but i figured I'd at least get on here and post a write up of the weekend. I didn't make it down for the movie airing or other events on thursday so those will have to be left to someone else to cover. I got into Huntsville about 1 PM on Friday after getting a slightl...

I was the door greeter that night so i got to met Shatner as well as all the inductees and other guests. I also got to shake Shatner's hand and welcome him. Then he proceeded to turn to go up stairs to a press confrence and cocktail reception. As he was walking he aparently was not poaying attention...

If you are going to Aviation challenge the BDU's wioll fit right in. Not sure what the current young marine uniform is but anything more formal than BDU's would probably be out of place. Many campers bring their own BDU's for wear. I was in marine JROTC when i attended Aviation challenge and wore my...
