While doing some research I found this little snippet: http://www.billingsgazette.com/region/20000112_reg01.html This speaks volumes as to the members of the board. Granted, they have wonderful backgrounds (do the research yourself), but if any of the others on the board have skeltons like this in t...

Noble effort Vincent, but your letter will probably never make it to the Gov's hands. Instead it will probably be read by some volunteer in his office and promptly "file 13'd." No harm in trying though.... Ok, here's an update: http://www.al.com/news/huntsvilletimes/index.ssf?/base/news/10...

Actually it's been out for a while. Don't know why they "re-released" it, it never went anywhere. Got mine at FYE! about a year ago. Blockbuster's had it for a while.

First step the board... next step improvements?

Read this exciting news: http://www.al.com/news/huntsvilletimes/index.ssf?/base/news/1078253197154141.xml Well, it's the first step in the right direction. Now if the powers that be would only sweep down, cut Capps' (and the rest of the excess fat upstairs) salary in half, kill his car stipend, and ...

On a side note, never tell them you have an open schedule. From the day I graduated from training to the day I said "get bent," I worked 4 months of doubles (16+ hour days) straight with one weekend off. Never got to see my daughter in that time. Think real hard about whether you want to d...

Given the fact that Vincent did shun the counselor community by not posting ANYTHING I think it's a good cause. I'm down for one.

Expect about $7 an hour. No paid overtime (you work over 40 hours a week, you still get base pay). No benefits at all. Lousy housing. Horrid food.

Takes a special breed. Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt. Use it in chlorine.

Try again campers... The A-12 (Codename "OXCART") never had an offical knickname either. The practice of giving "black" aircraft official knicknames is a relatively new process. When the B-2 was unveiled back in '88 (?) it didn't have one yet. It was later named the "Spirit....

Ok, ok... I'm actually watching the game. It's still the Worst Superbowl Ever! (Go Carolina!) The SR-71 was originally the RS-71, but thanks to Pres. Johnson not being able to read correctly at the public unveiling of it, it was changed to the SR-71. The 71 has no official knickname . It has been ca...

You're about 25% right on the SR-71. Keep trying. Answer Sunday night. (I won't watch the game since it will be the WORST SUPERBOWL EVER!)

The KC-135 (at least the one NASA uses) has ALWAYS been officially called the "Weightless Wonder." The term "Vomit Comet" came as many military aircraft names do, as an insult that later became a term of affection by their crews. Military aviation is full of such offical/unoffica...

:D Yes I remember you, and as I told you, you did better than most. I've had kids before that won't even change clothes after seeing the tank. I've had kids that won't leave the platform by the steps. You at least tried. All I ever asked of you and of every other person I've tried to take down is th...

Meg, remember me? I told you you weren't a loser too. Lots of people have fear of the water, at lest you try where others won't.

Yes there will be the normal dive. That will be how we evaluate who will get to to the EDM dive.

All right sports fans... here's the deal with diving. We (the staff of the UAT) will be the ones who decide who gets to dive the EDM. Yes, it will be whomever is an MS in the orbiter. However, we have to make safety a NUMBER 1 priority. That means, when MSs for a certain team come up to dive, we wil...

While at work today I looked at the numbers. Still a lot of space available for those of you that want to go. Still, numbers are down so far this year too. Fewer kids, fewer dives, but EDM EVA dives are back soon.

My understanding

My understanding and what they have thrown at us at the office is that there are NO MORE PAYLOAD SPECIALISTS period. New teams as we've been told will be a 50% mix of pilots and MSs. I see this as a mistake, but they don't pay me for my opinion, only my skills. Not only does this limit your options ...
