Space Camp Video from 1986-1992

I'm going to take short clips of video from my adventures at Space Camp with Enterprise Team between 1985-1996 and link them here. First - Enterprise Team's first session in 1986, as covered by Channel 31 in Huntsville. I called us Enterprise Team because most of the team were friends from Star Trek...

It's amazing what you find poking around this site!

The same trip on which I took the photos is also documented in an article I wrote for Starlog, a copy of which is at http://www.hab1.com/HabFiles/Starlog/July1986/cover.php

I haven't seen that article in a long time! :)

There was a Time Magazine article about the first adult session in 1985 (you can find the article at http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... 04,00.html).

Unfortunately, the online version doesn't have the photos, including one (very small) one of me in mission control.

Impressive! And welcome to Hab1.com! Considering how curious we all tend to be, it may be better if you just tell us all about everything you know regarding the film. Yes, I know that is easier requested than done... ;) Well, for starters, here's a picture: http://rkolker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_it...

First Memory? It was 1985, the first regular adult session and they dropped us off at the "bubble" (now Hab 2, more or less) and pointed us down a ramp to the basement. That was it! Those of us who were there just explored the barracks and found a bunch of flightsuits, so we all tried thos...

It has, on one of the early shuttle missions.

Duct (Duck, Gaffer's) Tape

Not only should you bring it to Space Camp, you should carry it with you at all times in your life! Okay, maybe that's not practical, but depending on your age, keeping some in your car, in your backpack, or wherever will get you out of lots of situations. I've always found a small (Maglite sized) f...

Working at NASA

Any of u guys work for nasa or anything? I'm trying to get an internship but no one from there ever responds It may be easier to get an intership with one of the contractors. None are really a good fit...

...for adults, even though they only used to (it's been a long time since I stayed in the Hab) put us three to a room. My memories were: the doors were all designed to slam as loudly as possible, the blankets and pillows were inadequate, the beds were short. They were hard too, but I like a firm mat...

I was there

OK...here we go.... The movie was designed to show what at that time was Space Camp Level 2 (now Space Academy). Because of the demand to more and more requests, what is now Advanced Space Academy came online in August 1987 as Space Academy Level 2. The cockpit that Ed Buckbee is seen in is the cur...

Some memories since I was there...

When the first regular adult session was held in September of 1985, they were wrapping up location shooting, so we were there for some of it. In fact, they kept us awake our first night because our dorms were in the basement of the "bubble" and they were shooting on the training floor abov...

The long drive home

I only almost nodded off once and made it back home by 2 am, about 11 hours on the road with a dinner stop and two gas stops. It was great to meet all of you. FYI, here's my "memo to Mike Flachbart" about how I think they should modify the program for the August session. All opinions are m...
