Re: 2018

The initial Hoot Camp generated a lot of excitement and interest. It was a great value for its price yet there was no way that there was going to be another loss leader like that. I feel that it led to inflated expectations at USSRC regarding future adult attendance and for possible attendees regar...

Re: 2018

I agree. My feeling is that attendance is low due to the changes made to keep prices down, i.e., fewer and shorter missions plus shorter "weeklong" camps. (BTW, that's my interpretation of why sim time is down and camps are shorter.) It also maybe low because the generation raised on spac...

Re: 2018

Ugh, my reply was deleted again (twice). The short version: There used to be alumni camps for youth and adults, much like the elite programme. They built on skills, had longer and more detailed missions, and some unique lectures. They made a great template for more complex corporate or adult camps,...

Re: Space Camp Benefits!

I think both Hotdog and SpaceCanada summarized answers to all of your questions very well. I commend you for applying for a Space Camp scholarship and going through that process. Even if you do not receive the scholarship, just being involved with the process makes you learn about yourself and dig d...

Re: 2018

Has anyone noticed on the SC website, there is now an "Advanced Space Academy Elite" available? They have it listed for 15-18 year olds and is only available for Advanced Space Academy Graduates. I would love to know if there will be such a camp offered for Adults (over 18+). I would be cu...

Re: Movie patch, real or replica?

I also was an active bidder on that patch. It is a great piece! I do not even have any of the 'reproduction' movie patches so was not afraid to put a higher bid on something like that. None the less, atleast after losing out on the auction I see it went to a good home and kept some money in my pocket.

Re: Adult Camp Accomodations

I called SC and asked regarding staying at the Marriott or any discounts if I decided on doing Adult Academy and didn't want to stay in the hab. I was told for a $200 additional fee you could stay at the Marriott and not in the hab. I did use a specific date as an example which was a 3 day so I do n...

Re: SpaceCamp Anniversary

Earlier in the month I stumbled in to an article online that mentioned about the anniversary of the move. Honestly I did not know when the actual debut was, so it was pure luck seeing that article. Our family had a 'little' celebration over the last few weeks. Due to time we had to spread things out...

Re: Anomalies on Adult camp missions, realistic or silly?

I like shuttle missions along with building & launching rockets. Egg drops, too although I have never done one... Just a dinosaur/kid at heart, I guess... Yet at least the shuttle was real and some of the switches affect the sim, not a guess like Orion 1.0 (Orion 2.0 is supposed to be better ye...

Re: Anomalies on Adult camp missions, realistic or silly?

On this thread, if you want to get a rolling list of who is interested, what 'custom' activities you want to do, and what months of the year that you want to see? I'm open for any month honestly. If visiting Marshall or the opportunity to do SCUBA, those 2 items I'd love to incorporate, however are ...

Re: Team Patches Frame

Plenty of patches have bene made over the years and in some cases, plenty of them. the question is; would SC want them there? I wouldn't mind donating a couple of my favorites, but only if they wouldn't go into the trash can right away or soon after they got them... Agreed, I don't think any of us ...

Team Patches Frame

I thought it would be neat to see a frame of various team patches at Space Camp in the simulator area along one of the walls. So for those who went beyond doing a patch design, but had real patches made, could be put in a frame along w/other teams that did the same thing. Over time as a frame is fil...

Re: Anomalies on Adult camp missions, realistic or silly?

I am interested in being a part of a 'corporate camp' and team if we are allowed to pick anomalies or have some say to keep things as realistic as possible.

Re: Big USSRC Announcement

I am hoping that eventually both adult and family robotics camps will be created and then eventually a cyber camp for youth, adults, and family as well. I'm excited by the news and eager to see what will be done in the future. This year Gen. Hyten mentioned a cyber camp coming up? What's that all a...

Re: Looking for old teammates

On the Space Camp alumni page, you can now create an account and register to pull up old camp records.

Here is a direct link to the registration page:
http://www.spacecamp.com/alumni/user/register

At this time, it looks like the years involved are 1989 - 2015.
