Wow, I didn't know it existed either. That's a really interesting story, I hope they find the funds to restore and display it. Letting visitors climb inside would be awesome!

NEEMO 16

I recently learned that NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 16 was commanded by Space Camp Hall-of-Famer Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger. Their mission, which was related to manned asteroid exploration, ended last week.

30th Anniversary of Space Camp

Surrounding the Space Camp Hall of Fame dinner this year is a weekend of activities that seem like a lot of fun for $99 a person. The details are at http://www.spacecamp.com/30th. I am definitely planning to attend.

Ender's Game

Apparently they're making a movie of the book Ender's Game and the cast has been 'training' at Space Camp. Here's a short article with a grainy picture of a video feed of them on the shuttle flight deck: http://www.slashfilm.com/enders-game-updates/

I have done a few projects for Kiowa Warrior, Chinook, and Blackhawk. Never had the chance to fly in one IRL, but I have flown each in simulation.

I asked around about it at the Tranquility Base Rendezvous and it didn't seem like anyone was making plans yet. I reminded folks to start thinking about it and let us know as early as possible so we could make plans.

Water fountains

I went to the USSRC with my daughters on Saturday morning. After dancing under the Saturn V, barely escaping attacking aliens in the kids area of the Davidson Center, blasting off in Kids Cosmos, and marveling at Pathfinder, the kids were thirsty. The water fountains outside by Pathfinder were turne...

Someone made a pretty cool video to promote NASA featuring the voice of Carl Sagan. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/v/oY59wZdCDo0

It was a month away and I didn't even know it had been scheduled. Maybe the focus on Camp registrations will mean someone will remember the alumni this summer.
