Re: Team photos; what do you do with them?

For the last adult ASA, our British team member sent us all coffee cups adorned
with our Teamphoto in front of the LM at Davidson. A treasured possession!

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

Last year, you and SpaceCanada and her hubby Goose, were new to us (most of us, that is), but the trust was there. I was part of Team Phoenix before it was named as such, and knew most of the team from an adult 8-day camp in 2004. Spacewalker was there that week in 2004 too, for the weekend camp. I...

Re: So, who's ready for 2015?

True words, "Tom." Team Phoenix has been together for many, many years, and we trust each other, and our Leader, Rockhound, trusts us. Last year, you and SpaceCanada and her hubby Goose, were new to us (most of us, that is), but the trust was there. Yes, Corporate Camp is a matter of serio...

Jenn, don't fret too much. Camp will be there, and space will be there, when you're ready.

Now, about the duct tape jokes...

Re: A few questions about ASA

Ahem, I guess we've really veered off topic here... To the OP, plan to wear black sneakers, astronauts
always wear black shoes.

PC, do you think she'll remember me? Oops, nevermind.

Re: A few questions about ASA

It'll take a lot more than duct tape and some thorazine, PC. I have the hots for that one waitress over there. Besides, an ATO is an abort mode, it's not about staying put!

Re: A few questions about ASA

No, the medical anomalies aren't watered down these days, you can still have a crew mate go psycho. You just have to jab him with some tranquilizer, or you can just tell the Crew Trainer "I've duct taped him down on the seat." They just don't want someone truly immobilized in case of a fir...

Re: A few questions about ASA

Yes, it is useful for the longer sims. Typically, it's used to patch hull cracks (put there by the Crew Trainers) that you'll look for when losing cabin pressure. I've even repaired a broken duct on the ISS with it! Like SpaceCanada said, good for splinting and other medical anomalies. One thing you...

Re: A few questions about ASA

P.S. Bring a small flashlight for when they kill the power. A Maglite is perfect. Plus, a short roll of Velcro tape, both sides, with the rough side with adhesive. Place the rough side with adhesive on items you don't want to float away. The Crew Trainers have a habit of bonking you on the head with...

Re: A few questions about ASA

Duct tape really does come in handy sometimes. You don't need to bring a lot, though. Pictures are certainly encouraged, and there are a couple of outlets in each Hab room for re-charging. I've been in pilot tracks for ASAs and have done the SCUBA training, so it's a possibility. The health form req...

Re: Adult Advanced Space Academy

Huh. So a "group" just formed up an ASA? A cheap version of Corporate Camp? Bizarre business
practices by the USSRC, that's all I can say.

Re: Adult Advanced Space Academy

This really irks me. Yes, it's very late in the year to be doing this. I would consider canceling my 4-day trip and signing up for this ASA, but I've planned a killer pre-Camp trip to KSC with Steve and p51. Still, I'm glad to see ASA might be back for the grown-ups next year.

Count me in, I think we deserve our own patch. As long as the USSRC is OK with it.

Re: Job Opportunity

That second one has got to be a thankless job! Sending them off for the oi' "Week in the Barrel," as they used
to call it. And then there's the audience: "He hasn't flown in space, he ain't NO astronaut." (FTETTM)

Conan, can I ask if the poster was part of your perks? Last I heard, more than a month ago,
was that they were still out for one more autograph. What perks did you receive last week?
