EALD

Does anyone know if the Early Arrival/Late Departure option is available for adult camps? I recall Richasi mentioning he got to roam around Sproket Park before people got there, but was that for EALD or something else? I ask because a friend of mine (and hopefully myself) will be going to Adult ASA ...

I am still in withdrawal after nearly 5 years... and, if anything, it is getting worse! I can definitely think withrawal symptoms are possible after 6 years. I have heard the only cure is to return to camp. Best of Luck Jason. If you cannot return to camp as a camper, simply visiting the USSRC for a...

Wow, whenever I have left from Edmonton to Huntsville, a round trip cost about 900$ CAD! Even checking the rates today, they look about the same. If airfare were only 180$, like Benji, I would have definitely attended ASA a few more times and I would have gone back as an adult already! After-thought...

Maybe I think so differently because I am older and I live in a small town rather than a city. Up here we have never allowed electronics (except digicams, calculators (school), and flashlights) to school or summer camps. Actually, I prefer it that way. Then again, I am one who owns a mobile phone on...

I cannot see a problem with digital cameras. A camera is a camera in my eyes. I don't think they would prevent someone from capturing memories of camp on film or digital media. Video recorders would probably be a different story though.

I am not a councellor and I have not been to camp in way too long, but I thought I'd add my interpretation. This is how it stands at other places I have been to recently, and I am guessing they are similar at Space Camp. Counsellors feel free to comment. 1. No non-essential electronics, such as comp...

There is a 10% discount on tuition for boodking two weeks in a row. They also waive one of the intermediate day fees. I know this applies for an ASA/AC combinations, but I cannot see why it wouldn't apply to two consecutive weeks of one programme. You should ring them and find out for sure.

Ice sports are a way of life up here. A disaster at any rink it is very sad. One year my Mum went out an hour away to play a game of Ringette (an ice sport similar to hockey, but not quite...). When she arrived she was greeted by a blaze and several fire trucks . The zamboni blew up... what a shame!...

Too funny... Looking at the 'Dates and Rates' page for ASA there are two "test camps". While I'd love to figure out what a 'test camp' is, I'm more interested in the 'test pilot' track and the cost of camp being a mere $1.00!! (Sign me up!)

Where: http://www.spacecamp.com/spacecamp/aa_ms.jsp and: http://www.spacecamp.com/spacecamp/aa_plt.jsp The link for MOCR goes to the page with six images, none of which is MOCR. People who have never been to camp may not have a clue what MOCR is other than a four-letter acronym. I do not know how th...

I just remembered another dream I had. The campus was one giant HAB1 building with pedways to other smaller HAB1-style buildings. You would walk in from the end of the main HAB1-type building. It had a glass ceiling, so there was lots of light. To the left was this huge space store, to the right was...

There is also an online directory of photos by HAB1 members here: http://spacecamp.ibnerd.net/index.php? Although a lot of them have people, including mine. In addition, Richasi has an amazing collection of photos from his Adult Academy experience here: http://www.azlance.com/~richasi/Pictures/Space...

I have had dreams about Space Camp before (several really...) They always seem to combine my primary school with the camp. It is very strange. It is a day at camp mixed with a day at my old school. At school we all had ID cards that hung around our necks with our picture and a magnetic strip so we c...

Space Camp used to offer videos of your week at camp. The video captured your team going through the various activities. Then there was a segment on the facilities at Space Camp; a standardised bit of information about the museum or space centre you were nearest to. I never got one of these films, b...

It isn't a book, and I am slightly off topic, and for that I apologise in advance... The day before my first trip to ASA my family and I went to see 'Armageddon' in theatres. I have paid about 25$ Canadian for DVDs, which is about 19$ US. The IMAX DVDs are more expensive than normal DVDs because they are specialty items. I think the VHS versions are around 18$ Canadian, or about 13$ US. So, if I were you, I'd do some hunting around for a better price! The DVD is very sim...
