lord knows my physical address has changed about 12-13 times since the last time I attended Camp. email is going to be the way to go. Before you leave Space Camp, you will get your own me@spacecamp.com email address. Move three or four times, your spacecamp.com address never changes. It will then be...

I can honestly say I met my best friend at Space Camp in 2001. We've talked weekly if not daily since we met and these days we go to the same University. I'd say there are actually plenty of examples of people meeting their best friends at Space Camp. One of my very best friends I met at Camp in 19...

OK so from the sound of it, this alumni thing is barely off the ground and the mothership is already getting shaky??? We have been needing/wanting an alumni organization of some sort for years. How can they wait until the last minute before the anniversary and expect an immediate payoff?? An alumni ...

Wow! I was emailed a proof of my Thiokol patch today. It looks great! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/hemiman876/thiokol_made_patch.jpg I still may have a couple left over, so if anyone is interested in buying one from me, send me a message if you haven't already. They will be around $16 a pi...

i plan on attending an adult camp eventually. i'd love to do it this summer, but its just not economically feasable for me right now. i'd really like to come back and be a counciler too, but that would require relocating to Huntsville. oh well, perhaps one day, who knows?

I've never had a reunion. In fact, I've only met back up with two former teammates outside of camp. Same here. Immediatly after Camp was over I wondered if we would ever have reunions. For years, it has been pretty much left up to the Campers to keep in touch with each other in the months and years...

that reminds me, one of my first memories from Camp was triggered when i said "ya'll" in a conversation. I quickly learned i was one of the only native Southern guys on the team. One teammate was serious when he asked me why i had all my teeth, and why wasn't I wearing overalls. (no joke)....

yeah the EVA astronauts were there from the beginning as I recall. wow, i had totally forgotten about that! I always thought that was a nice touch. Merchandise for sale on the main floor of Hab I was also part of the setup in the early days. The trailers with computer labs/lecture rooms did not come...

the original sick bay was a rather large room, so i imagine they moved the sick bay to the smaller closet-type room so they could use that space to create another Camper sleep bay or activity room? Perhaps this is where the computer/internet lab is that someone mentioned in another thread?

Oh, FYI, the first diagram comes from 1989 when the Hab first opened. Notice I was housed in Hab II from the notes.

The second diagram comes from 1991, a year after Aviation Challenge already opened.

Ok, digging thru my archives, I found two different diagrams. One is a little easier to read, while the other has some informative notes. Keep in mind, the diagram(s) of Hab II shows both levels, while the Hab I diagram really just shows you the first floor. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/he...

on an ironic note-- even though we didn't launch any kind of prerequisite payload (cricket, egg, or otherwise) while I was at camp in the early 90's, it should be duely noted that later on when I went to college, I used the same rocket-building skills I learned at Camp for an egg drop project in whi...

I suggested to Andi just a day or two ago the idea of a yearly Alumni Day at the Rocket Center. One day out of the year, in the spring perhaps, set aside for Camp alumni to catch up with old team mates and meet new people, and see what is new at Camp and the Rocket Center. It wouldn't have to be a b...

in 1989, 1991, and 1992 we were given free reign over our rockets' mission. The Estes rockets we were given to work with had clear payload bays, but we were given the power to build thr rockets any way we wanted - with or without insect payload bays or cargo

You've convinced me, though I don't understand the whole structure thing. The *main building* is Hab 1 and then there are extra floors or something and that is Hab 2? Does it change the outer look of the Hab? I notice there isn't much any more with pix. Does anybody have recent pix of this. You kno...

i have that book too somewhere. Wow i totally forgot about that book. At the time I bought it (1989), the new training center and hab were open so the photos were outdated. It was still interesting to see how much the program had grown in just a couple of years.
