I was a freshman in high school when it happened. I remember sitting there in class and thinking it must be a mistake because to that point, the shuttle was "safe." Nothing bad had ever happened to it before. Not to mention, they wouldn't put a teacher on board if it wasn't safe. Unfortuna...

The shuttle's crew includes commander Steve Frick and former professional football player Leland Melvin. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1986, and used his chemistry and engineering degrees to launch a NASA career after hamstring injuries forced him out of the NFL.

You haven't experuianced Horrible Space Camp Cafeteria food till you eat it for 3 months straight. The same food every week with few exceptions. Corn Nuggets, cardboard pizza, hamburgers that have no beef in them. undercooked hot dogs, and roast beast. Atleast on staff you can go out and get someth...
